Tradition is to do the Lake Geneva cruise but that is getting pushed back to September this year.  So we will start a NEW tradition.  The forum has been around for 6 years as of June 3, 2015 so we will be celebrating a little early.  We are doing a nice laid back picnic.

We have the site from 9 am to 6 pm but not looking to really start things up until around 10 am and then eat around noon.

We are asking everyone to bring a dish to pass.  There are no grills and no electricity so keep that in mind.  Bring what you would like to drink and a chair (NO glass bottles).  There is plenty of rooms so you can bring a blanket to spread out but there are also lots of tables.

Also if anyone has any yard games you would like to bring please do so.  All we ask is to set them up AWAY from the cars and the road for safety.

Time 10 am to 6 pm.  Please feel free to stop by anytime, no one has to stay the whole time.

Please no speeding, driving like asshats, burnouts, flipping cars over, running over children, driving on the grass, etc.

There is a washroom right there for us to use and the cars will be parked where we can always see them.  Just to let everyone know the road for the other areas does run right through where we will park.  So the cars will be very very visible, people will get to drive down a road of Mopars basically.

Directions

From the North – take exit 1B towards IL 72/ Higgins Road from I-290 E
Turn left onto IL-72 E/ E Higgins Road
Stay in the right lane, go about 2 miles
You will see a red pedestrian bridge the turn into the site is right before that.
If you get to Arlington Heights Road you have passed it turn around.

From the South – take exit 1B towards IL 72/ Higgins Road from I-290 E
Turn right onto IL-72 E/ E Higgins Road
Stay in the right lane, go about 2 miles
You will see a red pedestrian bridge the turn into the site is right before that.
If you get to Arlington Heights Road you have passed it turn around.

East or West
Find Higgins Road, see above directions.

Once you enter into the preserve follow the road around until you see the cars, it is about half a mile, maybe less, into the preserve.  We will have all the parking spots on either side of the road so please park where ever.  If there are cars behind you just pull in and when its clear go ahead and back in. If you need help backing in I am sure someone will be around to help park.  I don't care which side we will in first doesn't matter to me.

Below is a list of things for those that do not know what to bring.  If you want to bring something off the list please let me know and I will put your name next to it.  As always you are free to bring whatever you like but just keep in mind that we are going to have a good bit of people and everyone will want to taste what you bring.  If you are not picking from the list please let me know what you are bringing so I can add it.


I will supply plates, napkins, and silverware so do not worry about that.
Also fried chicken because you have to have that at a picnic.

If someone can bring a generator, I'll provide a sound system and tunes. Music; 70's to today. Just can't do the 50's thing. Let me know.

If we do anything extra I have to get permits and pay for it so thank you for the offer Jon but we are going to just keep this simple. But next year if the offer stands that is an idea.

I'm not much of a cook, but I can bring some kindling for the bonfire.

U need a permit for music?????

Busse needs a permit for everything and I mean everything.

You need a permit and fee for anything you bring on site outside of a grill it looks like.

No tunes, O-well...

Not going to be able to make this, have fun everyone and make sure to take a lot of pictures.

I'll get my wife to make some of her taco dip and bring that as well as tortilla chips.

all cook county forest preserves do NOT allow the use of generators or "amplified" music...the best they allow is a small battery operated boom box.

Since when? I was at a party last year with a live DJ in Crook County. Police came checked permits and left

I suppose butchering a live steer is out, too. Damned forest preserve Gestapo.

We are changing plans up so as of right now this event is cancelled and we are working on a new plan for the CAMM Anniversary so stay tuned for updates.
