coolant tank hose

there is a mesh like slip cover over my coolant hose its fraying on the end .my question is should i trim it or remove it entirely?????????thoughts???

That mesh is for rubbing, basically to prevent something rubbing against it and wearing down the rubber eventually causing a leak. If it's been rubbed through or frayed because of age you could replace it. But it depends on it location as well wether or not it would need replacing.

its just the netting on the outside hose is fine

I took mine off when I went with braided hoses

i may go to braid but for the time being i need it trimmed or taken off for saturdays shows.....

and im pretty sure the hose isnt against alot of other parts

Just take the hose off, trim it and throw a zip tie around it and it won't fray

Dealer has hose 20 bucks ..i just dropped alot of money on mods i guess another 20 wont kill me.

You can get a braided hose for a few more $

I put a small black zip tie on the one on the mango can't even notice it and it does the trick

yeah it just needs to be slid back up. If you have ever played with Chinese finger cuffs you will know how to do it.
You basically need to push it all the way down and then with it compressed slide it back up. It is hard to explain but it works

well i tried a few things its frayed on both ends but the one im concerned about is the front so i used electrical tapfor a border and i melted the end i tried doing the back to but well small fire .......anyway it looks better for now im looking at buying custom colored nylon hoses they got them in all colors .....
