| I stopped for gas and saw this today. Last night I parked in a kind of sketchy spot just of Lake st to go to a concert. When I parked I took one of my kids carseats out and put it in the trunk because I was going to give a friend a ride home from the show. Well, the carseat is gone now. I don't know if they saw me put it back there or what, but it seems like a bad way to burglarize a car. It looks like they tried to get through the rear seats, but couldn't get them down. They didn't take any tools I had in the spare tire compartment for my N2O stuff. There were 2 other carseats in the back seat, I'm glad they didn't try to pop the door to get those as well. argh. | |

| Man, that really sucks. One of the frustrating facts of life in the city. When I was living in the city, somebody was breaking into my garage about every six months. Then I put in a steel door and frame. So, the next time they drove a vehicle into the overhead door and sprung the door. Funny thing is I never kept anything valuable inside the garage.
I hope the repair doesn't set you back too much! Glad they didn't look under the trunk floor and find your tools or smashed a window to get the other seats inside the car.

| usually when something breaks or goes wrong with my car I take it as an opportunity to upgrade, but I don't think there are any performance trunk lids available. Maybe some weight savings, carbon fiber? I don't think it's going to cost enough to justify an insurance claim. | |

| There may be some weight savings from the hole. Most of the metal remains, but some of it probably scraped off onto whatever implement the person used. It also may end up being a kind of spoiler as air passes through it. Hell, I may just punch a hole in my trunk lid too! | |

| +1 for the spoiler or maybe re-purpose the hole and mount a rear view camera? | |

| Remove the truck lock, fill it in and repaint. When I lived in the city, I did that to every car I owned, after they stole my sounds one time. Too damn easy to get in any trunk with a screw driver. Where did this happen, Lake and what? | |

| That sucks. Nice ride though. No matter what you do if someone wants something they are going to get it. Almost seems better just to leave the doors unlocked so they don't mess things up. Should be an easy fix, just stinks that you will have to respray the deck lid. | |

| shawn, I didn't even think of shaving the lock. There's the upgrade I was looking for. It was at Fulton and Ogden. that area of Fulton is industrial without any street lighting.

| I think I'm going to do all the locks, and maybe the rear door handles. I need the front handles for the track. Does anyone know a good body guy? bill | |

bill Royal Coach where Crystal went is pretty good bro. I would recommend the guy that did my old Charger, but he has a few new guys working including the painter. I don't know how good they are.

| I highly recommend Royal Coach, there will probably be a wait time but its worth it. I went to the one in Bartlett and dealt with Adam. | |
