Looking to replace the shitty stereo in my Jeep (and maybe the Charger if I like how it goes) and hoping to find a shop that has a good selection and installs without leaving me with a squeeky dash.

I haven't bought a car stereo since 1988.

Best bet is to buy head unit online or ask a shop if they will match online price. What are you looking for in the head unit? I really like Pioneer and Alpine. My Pioneer in the Jeep has navigation with real time traffic, direct connect ipod (cable is $30 extra), blue tooth, sirrus (monthly fee, I never hooked it up). With the blue tooth I can also play music from my Android phone. I could recommend a few shops I would trust for basic stereo install. Also keep in mind you will need to spend about $100 in modules to retain steering wheel controls if u have them and other shit to install it correctly. I use Sonic Electronics for everything I buy.

I don't know enough about brands to have a favorite.  If you say Pioneer and Alpine, that's good enough for me.  I'd like essentially the works: GPS, total iPod control, integration with native controls in the Jeep.  I found a unit in my cursory search at Crutchfield that sounded like it suits my needs.  I may leave the speakers alone; maybe not.  I'm sure I wouldn't be able to fully appreciate a new stereo with the factory speakers.

Yeah, I need a local shop that can be trusted for the install if you have one.

Look up that same model at Sonic Electronics and see if there is a price difference.  Let me check if Anthony Electronics is still open in Elgin. Rays in Bloomingdale can also do a basic head unit install. I wouldn't let Rays do any custom shit but kind of hard to fuck up a head unit install. If anyone still talks to Jr with the 300, he knew a place in Algonquin that's pretty decent

Switched factory head unit in my Denali a while back. Was surprised at how much that alone cleaned up the sound. Could always do it in steps till you reach the sound you want.

One of my best friends is the head installer at the best buy in schaumberg his name is Matt and your dash won't rattle after the install.
