Morris Cruise Night - October

We would like to welcome all Cruise Night Enthusiasts to join us for our Cruise Nights in downtown Morris, Illinois. Years ago, there was a tradition in Morris called, "Buzzing the Gut", which was a simple way of saying cruising Liberty Street. We are bringing that tradition back to downtown Morris.

Only Cruise Night Participants will be able to park on or cruise Liberty Street as in days past. There are many eating establishments within walking distance that will be open to grab a bite to eat. And enjoy the 60s & 70s music as we turn back the hands of time.

Participation
Any car owners is invited to participate. For a minimal registration fee of $10.00, car owners can display their cars on Liberty Street in downtown Morris, starting at 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Entry closes at 8 p.m. No rain dates.

Join Us
The public is invited to walk around and enjoy these classic cars, AT NO COST. We look forward to seeing you in nostalgic downtown Morris, Illinois!

I might do this since I will be out for the GLMM thing. Anyone else?

You sure can. I am waiting to hear from Byron from GLMM on what exactly they are doing for their meet on Saturday so depending on his answer will depend if I go to this. Will hopefully have an update for everyone in this thread and the GLMM meet thread sometime this week.

Ok leaning towards this over the GLMM meet. If we got to Morris by 4 pm is that going to cause issues? I know it doesn't start until 6 pm but I seem to remember they started parking cars around 4 pm the last time we went down there.

Well, now I want to do this too! Every weekend in Oct. is a CAMM weekend. Love it!

I have no idea how my October ended up looking like my June. I will figure out meeting times and places as soon as I can and we will get this planned. Hope we get a good turn out and if you don't want to go to this remember the GLMM meet up on the WI border is happening as well same day.

We will be in Hoffman Estates late morning until early afternoon. Scot is autocrossing a lambo and I'm not sure when we will be done. I'm taking both cars to Morris so we can leave right from there but I don't think we can make it by 4. We are definitely going so we can meet up with everyone for dinner or something. I cant remember if they let you save spots (leaning towards not really?) but if they do then all the better otherwise I'll 'Voxer' peeps.

when I went a few months back, i was parked all the way down at the end near the train tracks and I arrived at like 530-545... id plan to show up somewhere around 3 or 4...

Its about 30 mins from there to Morris.

We wil plan on eating later since a few will be coming later.

- who is coming to the meeting spot in Romeoville
- who is coming later to Morris

Ray if you want to ride with me I have an appointment I have to go to in Joliet at 11 so you would be stuck with me all day. Let me know.

I just mapped this out...holy crap it's far!

My question is....to get the best mpg's, what gas mixture should I use?  Keep in mind I will be crossing thru many counties and elevations maybe different.  

I have a 1/4 tank of Shell 89 and was wondering if I should top it off with BP 87 and add a bottle of STA-BIL 360?  I'm hoping this combo won't cause any knocking.  

Any help is appreciated.

I say you just use race gas

Hmmm, race fuel would be a good choice...expensive, but good.  I was thinking that since I'm coming from up north I would be travelling downhill to Morris, so if I pickup a good roll I could just put it in neutral and not worry about the mpg's.  Maybe I would even be able to keep up with all you RT's and SRT's.
