Ok putting this out as a feeler. Is anyone interested in joining up with the tour after the leave from Madison and going down to Champagne for the day?

Still do not have the official route but I am assuming they are going to take 39 down so we could pick it up around Rockford and cruise down together. If we join in around Rockford its about an 3 hour cruise down it looks like according to Google Maps.

For one day its $55 to get in.

I need to know if anyone is in for sure. If anyone does want to do this I will have to change up my plans for that day but its no big deal. If no one is I will stick to my original plan.

For anyone that would like to go to the 2nd stop on the 2015 Hot Rod Power Tour here is the info.

We do not have the route yet so the plan could change slightly but for right now this is what we are going to go with.

The tour is leaving Madison, Wisconsin the morning of Sunday June 7th and will be heading to Parkland College, Champaign, Illinois

I am going to assume that they are going to take I-39 S down so that is where I am going to pick the cruise up.
I think we are going to meet up around Belvidere at the oasis and then head to 39 from there. But again this could change once the route is out.

From the oasis to the college its about 3 hours, and of course the closer we get the more traffic we will run into. Would like to get to the college around noon.

Meeting spot Belvidere Tollway Oasis, 2510 Pearl Street, Belvidere, IL 61008. Meet around 830/845 AM. We will be leaving at 9 am on the dot.

Address we are heading to is Parkland College
2400 West Bradley Avenue, Champaign, IL 61821.

If we roll in together it will increase our chance to park together. I have never been to the college so I have no idea how the parking is going to be.

What do I get if I register my car?
Registrations include a vehicle window sticker and credentials for two adults. Additional passengers are not required to register unless they would like to have their own set of credentials.

ONE-DAY REGISTRATION: One-day registrants get the exclusive Hot Rod Power Tour license plate frame and vehicle entry, but no goodie bag. One-day registrants are not eligible for the giveaways. One-day registrants who go to more than one stop will have to re-register on site each day. For example, if you are doing three stops, you would have to stop and register three times as a one-day participant. If you plan to bring a car to more than one Power Tour stop, it pays to register as a multi-day participant.

$55- Registration on site at Power Tour

Cannot register until noon.

NOTE: To help alleviate traffic congestion going into the show, registration will be located off-site not far from the venue. Follow the signs directing you to the “Participant Registration” location at each daily stop. Registered participants will get regular updates, including specific information in a confirmation letter in the weeks preceding the event.

I have to show valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and the vehicle’s valid government issued registration. So it might be a good idea for anyone going to have that with them as well.


If you want to park offsite and walk in as a spectator you can.

How do I attend as a spectator?
Spectators attend for free! Spectators must walk in. If you wish to bring a car into the Power Tour grounds, you must register. Here are the rough hours of the car show and manufacturers’ displays each day:
Sunday thru Thursday: 12:00 noon to 7:00 pm


Once I know what is going on cruise night wise I will update that. It will be up to you guys when you head back home. No idea how long those of us that are doing more than one stop of the tour will be leaving to head over to our hotel.

Please let me know if you are in for this so I know who all is meeting at the Oasis.

Still waiting on the route to be sent out. Looks like a few people will be attending at least the Campaign stop for the day. Anyone else?

We will be taking 39 South down to the Hot Rod Tour Spot.
Registration opens at noon would like to be there as close to that time as possible.


If you are in for sure I need to know if you are meeting at the oasis or meeting down in Champaign. Going to try to hold spots but as cars come in its going be very difficult to hold them.

We'll be up in Madison coming down but don't know what time.

Ok I am going to rethink our route down now that the official route is out! Need to know who is going to Champaign for the day.

So the first day of the power tour is in the bag. Had a great time and did meet up with paul. A lot to see and do, we sat on the main strip into the event and watched the cars drive by and we'll as walked around just the sponsor area. Did even get to the other parking lots but the one we were in.

Hope the weather isn't as bad as they are saying.

Well the 2015 Power Tour is officially over, this morning was a short speech and then just waiting for the long hauler items.

It was a great time and we are already talking bout the possibility of doing it again next year.

Did you get the big metal sign at the end? I saw Dave's and it was killer looking.

This has absolutely been my most favorite thing I have done so far with my car. The sheer number and types of cars were out of this world.

1700+ miles on the car. Its beat to hell, I am beat to hell, car needs new brakes. Ask me again if I would go and I would leave tomorrow.
