Midwest Leg of the 2014 Hot Rod Power Tour

Ok this post is going to be split up into two groups. One for those just wanting to go for the day in Crown Point and the rest will be from Crown Point until the end of the tour.

Gates open at 12 for people that want to register for one day.  For anyone that wants to go for the day I would like to get there as the gates open and try to make sure we get a good spot to watch all the cars roll in.  It seems like most of MMOI, NWIMopars, Bosak, and MMA will be meeting at the fairgrounds. So it will be a mini Mopar show until cars start rolling in.  Then we will head off to dinner that Paul from NWIMopars has set up.

There will be VIP parking for all the Mopars attending and very close to all the local hotels. off the intersection of I-65 and Indiana Route 30.

Dinner is at 4 pm.

I am trying to get more information from Paul about what exactly is the plan for that day.  Not sure what time the Hot Rod tour is getting into town and if they are doing something at the fairgrounds on Wed or Thurs.

I know this is in the middle of the week but if you can get the day off and come hang out that would be awesome.  I am going and my parents are probably going to be in town so I would LOVE to show all off to them, especially my dad.

Once I know what the plans are for Wednesday I will figure out a meeting spot for anyone that wants to go so we can all roll in together.

I wanna go!!!!!!

If my parents come into town I will be up in Volo a lot since they are bringing their RV and I think camping up at Fish Lake.

This will only be the 2nd time in the 8 years that I have lived here that my dad has come up and the first time was WAY before CAMM was around. So I really want to show him all the cool cars, he is a Ford guy but wants a Chally. So I am hoping I can sway him. That way I can stop driving Ares home so much and use his Chally when I am home.

I don't think it will be hard to talk him into one. He has been looking at SRT's. But this was before the big ass RV came into play. He has seen pictures of almost everyones cars and he always seems to graviate towards the green ones.   

Nothing is set yet, they are coming here for a few days then over to PA for my great aunt's 80th so I am only doing the hot rod tour in Crown Point then I am heading over to PA myself.

I'm doing the MoPowered Tour for Mopar Collectors Guide Magazine. We've got a bunch of stuff goign on for the Tour. Including a Dinner stop after the Crown Point, IN stop at a place called Catch22. You can be on the fair grounds usually starting around 10 am.

Ok cool and I see we can pay $30 the day of the show. I'll need to talk to Paul and Zach and figure out a roll in time.

We are thinking about going sounds like fun

I am in for sure for the day and 99% sure my parents will be here still.
Want to have a FOR SURE time as to when we can get into the fairgrounds. Once we have that then I can work with Paul from NWIMopar and Zach from MMOI to see what the plan is.

Depending on the time we all can meet somewhere down there to have a late breakfast/ early lunch since dinner is not until after 6 that night. Will keep everyone posted.

Most likely an in for this, won't know for sure until it's a little closer to June and I can gauge how busy work will be then.

Ok here is the update:

What are the on-site Registration hours, and what are the types of registration are available? In Charlotte, Registration will be open Friday June 6th from 9am to 6pm, and again on Saturday June 7th from 9am to 6pm. At all other venues, Registration opens at noon, and stays open until 6pm at each venue. If you miss getting to Registration before it closes on any Cruise Night, you will have to get your credentials at the next venue. If you plan to go to more than one city, you fall under the multi-city registration price and will only have to pick up your credentials once. If you would like to register for one day only then decide to go to another stop, you will need to stop at the registration trailer in the next city to register again. The credential you get as a one day registrant will not be accepted at any other venue.


So we cannot get into the fairgrounds before noon  I need to talk to Paul but I am thinking anyone from our area that wants to go for the day we can meet up around 11:00 AM and head down to the fair grounds.  But will have to see what the other groups are doing before we make that call.

We are thinking of doing the day only rather than the run to Wisconsin

I think a few are doing the IN to IA to WI leg.

I really want to do that as well but I have a few things blocking me. My parents are going to be here until the day after the IN stop of the tour so leaving to head to IA while they are still here and its their last day just seems a bit wrong. I am supposed to be in PA that Friday and Saturday because my great aunt is turning 80 and we are having a big family thing.

So unfortunately I think I am in for just the day on Wednesday. Kinda bummed.

I'm in for the day only. I don't have that much time to take off of work again. I already have a lot of days off requested for all of the stuff going on this summer. I CAN"T WAIT TO DRIVE MY CARS!!!
