New CAMM Member.........

So...... there is gonna be a new CAMM member. My wife and I recently found out that we will be having a new addition to our family around July 9th!! She is officially knocked up!!      



I'm SO excited!!! Next week we will find out the gender of the baby so I'll keep ya'll posted

That's great news Adam congrats. Time flies my boy just turned 3 and my daughter is nearly 10 months. Enjoy them when they're small and don't move when you put 'em down is all I can say

So a little update.....

It IS definately a boy!!!!   

We had a couple ultrasounds as well as some testing for Shannon. Something came up in some blood testing or something. We were referred to a neonatal specialist. After some more ultrasounds as I was sitting there, and the lady got real quiet, then said "Let me get the doctor I see something with his abdomen". So right then and there we were sweating and stuff started running through our heads and stuff like that.

After like 5 LONG minutes the doctor came in, and did another level 2 ultrasound, he was quiet the whole time. Keep in mind I am sweating my ass off and Shannon is ready to have a breakdown not knowing whats happening.

The doctor then explains and shows us that our son is diagnosed with a condition called omphalocele. This is basically "From wikipedia".... is a type of abdominal wall defect in which the intestines, liver, and occasionally other organs remain outside of the abdomen in a sac because of a defect in the development of the muscles of the abdominal wall (exomphalos). Omphalocele occurs in 2.5/10,000 births and is associated with a high rate of mortality (25%) and severe malformations, such as cardiac anomalies (50%) and neural tube defect (40%). Approximately 15% of live-born infants with omphalocele have chromosomal abnormalities.

LUCKILY after shannon had the amniocentesis to test for any other abnormalities, and we are in the clear and he doesnt have any other issues thank god. It has just been a crazy last couple weeks trying to absorb everything and trying to figure out what we are going to do. I havent had ANY time lately to do ANYTHING, so this is the first chance I have had to tell my CAMM family and let you all know and update you all.

We are just asking for some thoughts and prayers for this little guy
