New Radio

I want to get a newer radio...with a touchscreen....and an aux port...anyone know of any that look really good and perform well? I do have a 6 disc CD changer so it would have to work with that also

Why do you need aux port? What kind of 6 disc changer do you have? That is going to limit your choices on head units. Those are kind of obsolete now a days (6 disc changer). If memory serves me rite, you will have to have the same brand head unit as the changer.

Aux for mp3...nobody uses CDs abynore ....the 6 disc came with the car

Or if its possible to get a 2008-2010 my gig radio

I have a brand new one. It's installed, but hardly used. I'm thinking about it...hmmm, to sell or not sell? It still has the vinyl protector over the screen. Maybe put a switch panel in it's place. I don't even know what they are worth.

Well if you are using an Ipod as your MP3 player, aux not needed. they make an adapter that plugs in the back of both aftermarket and Tom's factory head unit. I like to run that wire in to the glove box and keep my Ipod there. I would say lose the weight of the cd changer and throw in the garbage

I use the stock one lol, mp3s are a hassle in my phone but ill make an mp3 disc and carry 6 genre based mp3 discs in there, rock, rock, rock, some more rock, some random hits, some bass-y stuff...
6 cd changer is all i need!

If i need something off my fone ill use the tape thing sounds swell, double amped

it's kind of pricy to do the mygig conversion, but it's probably the closest to an oem look your going to get. The headunits go for around 600 bucks I think, but there is almost 1000 bucks in harnesses and antennas and shit that goes with it. I want something touch screen as well, but will live with the old 6 disc/nav probably indefinitely. Mp3 disc are what I use as well. I can fit 6 or 7 albums on one disc.

I have this one. I have the trunk subwoofer, also.

No idea of how much it's worth. No idea if I even want to dick with anything like the rear ves and the uconnect. If it all just unplugs and comes out easy, I might.

I've had my VES out, it's about 6 screws and no big deal.

Are all years already wired for the mygig, ves, uconnect and same amp for subwoofer?

Lock pick is a hack. It just enables playing video from the front screen while moving. Not a good idea. Think about it.

The SRT's have a radio ?!? Oh I see it it's under the hood and it says H E M I...

i wasn't talking about Lock pick.... but I think the harnesses need changing, as well as telling the car computer that you have a different radio and amp and things (if you add the nav system and whatnot)

That's what I was wondering about. I thought maybe they were all pre-wired for it and only got it in the option group selected. I dunno.

you need a lock pick harness to put a mygig into my car. I would guess they aren't the only company that makes an adapter harness, but they are certainly the most widely available and used for our cars. and it isn't cheap.

most of the time, the harnesses might look the same, but the pin arrangement is different, or the wires aren't there and need to be added. Its the same reason you need to usually splice wires when installing an after market radio into the cars. It would be nice if they came pre-wired and everything was just plug and play... but sadly its never that easy...

So it wouldn't do any good then for someone to buy a mygig.

Items needed to install MYGIG into Pre-08 LX

(1) MYGIG RER Nav Radio****low speed model only****Chrysler part# 5064401AH or higher revision. example part# ending in AI or AJ or higher.

(2) MYGIG adapter lockpick with optional A/V harness***Do not get confused with MYGIG lockpick***

(3) Nav Antenna for MYGIG

(4) Mopar Mic for U-Connect operation Part#82211743AB for about $35-40(uconnect is built into unit, Mic is required for operation)

(5) Clock Fix Firmware Update Disk(clock on mygig would normally not work in 05-07 LX, this corrects the problem)

The next 2 items are only require if you intend to subscibe to Sirius. Sirius is built into mygig, these items are required for proper operation

(6) Sirius Sat Antenna Extension Cable - Chrysler Part#05064159AD(2 may be required depending how you route it) (only required if your going to subscibe to Sirius)

(7) Terk Sir-SP Splitter (only required if your going to subscibe to Sirius and have EVIC display)


you can get a 4-5 hundred bucks for it on lx pretty quickly I'd think.
