NWIMA Moster Mopar Weekend 2013 Cruise A Palooza

This is the thread for the cruise down to Monster Mopar Weekend.

The ONLY official cruise to Indy Monster Mopar Weekend. The official start point will be Bosak Performance at 8 AM CST.

From there you will depart for Lafayette, Indiana where you will make a stop at the historic Tripple X Family Restaurant featured on the Food Network.

From there the cruise will depart for Indianapolis behind the "Green Machine" With arrival at Lucas Oil Raceway for a VIP parking section and to enjoy Monster Mopar Weekend.

There will be cruises down from Chicago, Ohio, Michigan, and up from Kentucky.  So they are expecting a big turnout for this.

For CAMM peeps would like to roll into the dealership around 730/745 at the latest.  Last year Team Headtripp went down on Thursday and stayed in a hotel, I drove down the next morning.  I can get a list of hotels near the dealership and will also organize a meeting spot and a cruise down to the dealership for Friday morning.  Going to talk to our MMA peeps and hopefully a group from WI so we should roll into the dealership pretty strong.

Been meaning to write something up to explain what went on last year and what to expect so far this year.


I am thinking the best place to meet up so we can all roll into the dealership together would be the oasis on 80/294.

Chicago Southland Lincoln Oasis
I-80/294 (Tri-State Tollway) near South Holland Mile Marker 1.0


From the oasis its about 30 mins. So if we want to get there by 745 I need everyone that would like to roll in together to be at the oasis at 7 and we will roll out either when everyone that is expected gets there or 715 at the latest. There is a Starbucks and a McDonalds there if anyone needs to grab anything to eat or drink while we are waiting.

I will drive that way soon to make sure that makes sense. But from looking at maps it seems to be ok.

Once we get to Bosak we will just fall in line and enjoy the cruise down to the next meeting spot where we get to have an early lunch and meet up with even more Mopars.

Then its on to the track to meet up with the Ohio and Kentucky groups and our parade lap around the track. We will also get shown where we are going to park and figure out how to park the next two days. Zach is handling thankfully because if the CAMM synchronized parking team was in charge we would be in trouble.

Once we get things figured out at the track then we can go check in at the hotel and get settled. Last year we all met back at the main entrance to the track to head out to dinner together. Not sure if that is the same plan this year. Will post when I know.

Saturday we can decide if we want to roll into the track/ show together or what. Will be easier since we are all staying in the same place.

There were golf cart rentals last year, I am planning on getting one this year. Will let you guys use it if you behave.

Saturday you can watch drag racing, go autocross, walk around and look at lots of cars and parts, and if you are being judged this is judging day. They did a party in the pits last year but this year I think we will do dinner somewhere outside the track and then shenanigans back at the hotel. Will figure it out.

Sunday is awards day but not until early afternoon so we spent all morning autocrossing and looking at cars last year.

We were back on the road to home by like 2 or 3 I think. We can all roll out together and people can just head in whatever direction they want when the time comes.

FYI - this is in EST not CST so keep that in mind when we are travelling to Indy and back home. The Bosak meeting spot is in CST. The lunch spot is in EST and the show is in EST.

That is all I can think of for now, if I remember anything else I will post up.

Which way from the oasis are you going? Easier for me to either sit in the side of the highwa or by the exist your taking but def meeting up to roll in

MMA is meeting up somewhere too. Hopefully Madhatter posts that spot up and if that spot is easier join up with them.

Also I have two two way radios. If anyone else has them please bring them.

This sounds fun. Did I see something that we need to register at the event? I cant wait! Got my buffer yesterday so I can put a shine on the car to blond people.

Just a thought,me thinking is scary enough, remember that when you calculate your meet up times to factor in rush hour.. This is a weekday

Lol, tech u will be going east but that's cool. I didn't know if u were taking 41 south or going to 65 south then 30 west.

I plan on getting completely shit faced both days, just a heads up. Case of Modelo 1 night, and a bottle of bacardi 2nd night, who needs dinner????

wait register? did i miss something? i have my hotel reservations but i didn't know we had to register for anything else ahead of time.

Judged.

It saves time so you don't have to do it when you get there. Last year they mailed my parking pass, wristbands, and show infoto me. Normally there are enough wristbands for you and a guest for all weekend.

Once at the show you go to the tent and get your show number and then done.

The plan for the cruise.. Everyone in the cruise is going to meet at the main gate of the track, and we will wait for Josh to come out and escort us into our parking area. We will most likely be going in the track and crossing the strip and coming up the return lane to our parking area. I will have cruise cards for anyone that did not get them at the Lafayette stop, as well as for my Indianapolis people. This needs to be placed on the dashboard for the weekend if possible to be able to access the VIP area.

Friday after getting to the track and hanging out for a bit, my group will probably head to the hotel around 4:14-4:30 to check in, freshen up, etc. in order to get ready to head for the Slippery Noodle for Friday night festivities. I figured I would put a time when I will leave the hotel and lead a caravan downtown to the bar if people would like. There is limited parking in the Noodle lot, but the huge lot across the street will be available for parking as well.

Saturday I will put tentative time out that I will leave and if anyone wants to come in as a group, more than welcome to. We will have to use the main show car entrance on Saturday and Sunday and proceed to VIP area.

I will have a golf cart all weekend.. that was the best decision I made last year and that booking info is on the web site, they are fairly reasonable for the weekend if anyone is interested.

Just an update for everyone.. when you register judged or non-judged.. that gets you, your car, and one other person in for the weekend. (so you get 2 wristbands and a window sticker)

If someone signs up non judged can they change their mind once we get down there?
