| so... for all of you guys with the new car covered under this recall. I must have one of the first production runs of the car and here's why... Starting on friday, in the middle of just cruising, Mr Squiggles, ((ABS)), and BRAKE, appear on my dash. Puzzled, I think "WTF", but continue on my way. I know the park brake isnt applied, and well, ABS and traction control, who needs them when it isnt wet outside. Anyway, as i approach a stop light, the error lights turn off. So i figure, eh, whatever, ill mention it when I take the car in for the paint repairs. Monday morning I get a text from my roommate, "Recall issued on 11 and 12's for an ABS issue", and I see this thread as well. Thats what leads me to believe i have one of the first production runs. My failures coincide with the recalls being issued within days of each other. Anyway, yesterday, as I was going to leave again after doing some running around, the car wouldnt start. Went through the process 3 times. Car went into ACC and then RUN, but the engine wouldnt crank. So, here I am, thinking "FUCK, now what am I gonna do, i gotta be at the bulls game in a hour, and my car won't start". Anyway, I drop the car into neutral, apply the brake, and push the button... VRROOMM, she takes off. this time, the same warning lights are lit up on the dash. Drive for a few minutes, all lights turn off, and havent come back on since. So... basically, Im telling this story because I want to give a heads up to you 2nd gen owners, that should you experience this problem as well, put the car in NEUTRAL, and you will be able to start the car, and you won't get stranded... Im taking the car to the stealership tomorrow for repair. | |

| on a side note... I kinda don't exactly want them to fix this in my car... hahaha, sure, it would suck in the winter, but I already hate the fact that most of the car, all cars for that matter, are so computer and electronically controlled. I hate the fact that traction control, stability controls, TPM sensors and all of that crap are mandated and required by the NHTSA. They've taken the fun out of driving, and ultimately raise the cost of cars, as if they werent expensive enough already as it is, not to mention it just means there's more shit in a car to go wrong... ok, thats the end of my rant... | |

| neutral start works on a lot of cars. whenever i have a customers car that won't start (if its not a battery or alarm issue) a neutral start works. i dunno what it bypasses but it does something. | |

| probably briefly bypasses the ECM... and just lets the PCM do the job... but im nothing more than a back alley car mechanic, i dont know the computer stuff to well. | |

| hahahah Grandpa Ares.... the car is fine, dealer ordered the replacement today. Sherman Dodge just got notification of the recall yesterday (May 9th), so they were a little confused when I brought it in to them today. Everything should work out though. | |
