Tension Stuts Empty
PostSubject: Tension Stuts   Tension Stuts I_icon_minitimeNovember 13th 2010, 9:23 pm

Are tension struts on both the front and rear? Or just the front? I am trying to figure out what is causing my clunk in the rear suspension so I can take it to the dealer and get them to fix the shit. They replace the rear shock mounts and that helped a bit. Noise came back and they could not find what was the cause.

Just in the front, Nick. My guess is a bad anti-sway bar bushing, or perhaps the bar’s end link. If so, have the offending mounts replaced in pairs, as both sides are on their way out. Other parts that cause similar noises: the upper shock/strut mount (replaced), control arm bushings and maybe a loose ball joint.
