Gary@3gcustomz "About Me" Final Chapter ???

OK couldn’t get to the track a lot with the Opel so I needed something that I could drive to the grocery store – Hmmm how about a Pro Street T-Bird - So that’s what we built. I was able to pad my budget so I decided to do this one right. My son Gary was older now so we both logged the hours on this one. I picked up an 83 Ford Thunderbird and completely re-built the front and back half of the car and added a full roll cage. For power (your not gonna believe this) I put in a Reher-Morrison Built 468 BB Chevy with 800 HP, TCI Turbo 400 with a 5500 stall converter and a Strange Ford 9 inch Rear End with 4.11 Gears. We Custom built the 2-1/4 inch headers and ran them thru Custom built 3-1/2 inch Jet Hot Coated Exhaust thru Dual Flowmasters and finished it off with a PPG Tri Coat Urethane Paint job. Very cool and very fast. Now this one took 6 years to complete also but was well worth it. Did the Woodward cruises with it, tons of shows and have a lot of trophies to show for. Never raced this one though it was just too nice and I didn’t want to beat it up at the track. Computer software said it would run high 8’s at around 160 mph. Definitely a fun project.
