After selling the Vega I decided to start another car project. My very first car I bought was an Opel GT and I always said that it would be cool to make a race car out of that so I guess you know what I did. I picked up a used 73 Opel GT from a guy down in Detroit and drove it home - barely. My son was around 6 and he helped me strip it down. He’s pulling off a trim piece around the back window and says Dad what’s this? Funny he found a bag of drugs. I guess I bought a drug runner lol. Now my budget was a little bigger on this one. I decided to re-use the Vega small block but upgraded to full race TCI Trans and put it on a completely fabricated rolling chassis. Added a line loc, delay box and blew nitrous into the motor. Of course having to keep a business running this project took a better part of 6 years to complete. It would run low 10’s at 125 mph. Cool car squirrelly but cool.
