Starved Rock on Sunday?

Saturday is going to be crap but right now Sunday is looking good. I am thinking about heading out to Starved Rock again. If anyone would like to join me that would be cool.

Thinking this time just packing drinks and snacks and heading out. Then after we leave finding some place off site to eat instead of eating there this time.

If there is interest post up and I will decided on a time and meeting place. Probably will be like a 9 am or 10 am start time. Will be watching the weather though.



This might be the same way Tom took us last time.

CAUTION! This route is made up of small two lane roads that have sharp turns, unexpected elevation changes and blind corners. Care should be taken because it is FAR more dangerous than Rt. 6!

It begins when you pick up Rt. 6 leaving Interstate 55 near Channahon.
Drive west over the Du Page river to a small side street about 3 miles west of 55. Turn south (left) on Bell Road.
Drive past the park on the right to Hansell Rd. Turn right and the fun begins....
The first time you need to take the route slow to familiarize yourself.
Proceed south west bound on Hansell until it comes to a "T" intersection. Take the left fork ( East Cemetary Rd.) .
Follow the road past the horse farms and around the old cemetary into Morris. The road will end after crossing under the Rt. 47 bridge (parallel to Rt. 47) at BENTON St. It is a "T" intersection. Turn right on Benton one block to Liberty St. It's the main street in Morris. Turn left on Liberty until you get to Jefferson St. Turn Right on Jefferson. Take Jefferson through this old beautiful town to the west side of town, (it becomes Freemont St.).
Turn left on Ottawa St. (you really cannot go any further on Freemont as it goes into a subdivision).
Follow the curve around to OLD STAGE RD. Turn (bend ) right.
Follow old stage rd. for several miles, until you get to Senica. The road becomes Union St. Follow it until you get to Main St. (Rt. 70). Turn south (left) and cross the river. IMMEDIATELY after crossing the bridge, turn right at the first road. There will be a sign pointing both ways to "Marinas". Turn right. Follow that road into Ottowa. There will be a Kroeger Food Store on your left. Turn right on RT. 23 and head up towards OTTAWA. Just before you get to the bridge you will find Rt. 71 on your left to Starved Rock!

heres my "route" to starved rock. Not to sure if its the same one you described. If this is still going down, id be up for the cruise, i dont have anything else planned (i never do really)

Nahh think if Sunday is good might be heading up to Jefferson swap meet

9 or 10 start time on a Sunday? Hmm I must be the only Catholic here that actually goes to Church every Sunday.

I'm going to the church of the curvy road. Tom I am still planning this as long as the weather holds. Will decide tomorrow late and post up a meeting point if I am going for sure.

boone dock's is a cool place they have seafood and good drink's and a tiki bar outside in the summer months

As long as they have other things then shellfish I should be good to go. I just have to be careful with what I eat and how they cook it. Or I won't be able to see after a few mins. Will look it up online. Thanks again.

I wish I could, I have been too busy lately and need to get out, BUT I got a sidejob here at the house.... so... making money it is LoL

Tom (and anyone else that was thinking about going) going to take a raincheck on this. I need to kinda be close to home tomorrow for work (shocker). But we will do this again sometime later in the year.

Rain check? It's not raining. I think me and my buddy with the Mopar 11 are going to head out to Starved Rock anyway but latter in the day around 1:00pm.
