| I'm throwing up possibilities for th Plum. I'm sorta torn betwee Shaker Hood Or Aftermarket. I know there's good & bad points of both.
But what's the deal with True Fiber? I know they have a SRT-8 Rep i was looking at.
What do you guys think or know of them? How do they stack up to others? Do they have the same weight issue as others?
Weigh in! | |

| If you are doing a shaker and need a hood to practice cutting, I have my stock hood still for sale. | |

| I wouldnt cut up your OEM hood to do the shaker. If you want the shaker then the best thing to do is buy an OEM hood off someone else (Shawn) and then paint it plum crazy. If you want an aftermarket hood then VFN is the way to go since they are very high quality and the fit is amazing. Not to mention they are in our area so you dont have to worry about shipping costs. From what I hear, trufiber isnt that good. I heard too many complaints about product quality and they need waaaaay too much prep before painting them. | |

| mines a trufiber... I didnt want the same SRT hood alot of people have... I wanted different!
thats why I got the 2in cowl one! it does weigh alot but the hood prop holds it... and I had them paint it and the paint came out great (especially for the silver steel!)... only problem was the VERY little crack now, after all this time, where the cowl opening is...but its under the clear...
I love my hood! | |

| Yeah, I like Jerome's VFN.
Joey, you & Shawn are exactly right. I wouldn't dare cut into my PC hood. I'll preserve that for years to come. And with what Chris has gone through, I would never want to try & color match PC on Anything. I was actually looking to go w a Matte Black Hood for the classic look.
I ran across a deal locally for a TF Carbon Fiber SRT-8 rep. Price would make this Dream a Reality. But I remember never seeing any praises regarding them. I had talked to chris about them before @ the McHenry Meet last year.
And there seems to be a lot of drawbacks to the Shaker, especially fit & finish!. And the End Cost could skyrocket.

| Yeah Reece, unless you wanna paint the fenders and fascia....it's NOT going to match. The matte black hood will look killer! | |

| Mine is a Tru-Fiber as well. I love mine too!! Same thing, I have a TINY crack, but it's so big and grabs so much air, it was kinda expected. But we didn't have any fitment issues or anything like that. The ONLY thiny my paint guy said, was there was alot of pin holes in the fiberglass, but it was eaily fixed, same thing, it was kinda expected with a fiberglass hood. AND it's heavier than the OEM hood. But otherwise, I LOVE IT | |

| Reece, you really should check out VFN. They make a variety of hoods and from the ones I have seen...they are good quality and look great! AND they are in the Chicago area!! http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/ | |

What are the drawbacks? I haven't heard of any. I haven't either Dave. I know a lot of people who have them and they have had no complaints.
