Found a new Car Empty
PostSubject: Found a new Car   Found a new Car I_icon_minitimeNovember 11th 2015, 7:36 am

Hey Guys,

So some of you may know that I am trying to sell my 2011 Dodge Challenger, well part of the agreement with the wife (baby on the way), is that I got to choose the sedan of my liking along with the ability to buy a classic car or truck come spring time. Anyway, I found a 2006 Chrysler 300 SRT8 for sale at a local dealer (AWESOME) the previous owner dumped somewhere are 26k in performance parts into the car. I was wondering 2 things one, was he maybe from this forum or have you guys seen him around and know about the car. (http://www.andersoncars.com/used-Crystal+Lake-2006-Chrysler-300-C+SRT8-2C3LA73W96H102778).

Second, I have never really had that many power add-ons to my car, could this car be driven (maybe with snow tires) in winter. Below I typed out the list of add ones that he lists are on the car.

HHP Stage II Head and Cam Pkg (BES Heads, BES Intake, BES Cam, Kooks Headers, Hiflo Cats, Protorque 2800 Torque converter)
Magna Flow Catbacks
Brembo Rotors
Hotchkiss Front and rear sway bar
Strutbar
CMR Race and Street Tune

He claims the car is over 550 HP, what do you guys think?

I think that sounds loke about 5-6 grand in parts. Where did he spend the other 14 grand?

There was some other stuff, I left because they weren't all performance parts. he has an integrated radar detector, rims, chrome grille, catch can, and had a tune done on the car

Just typed a long ass answer, hit send and lost wifi at work, lol.
But basically what I said was, I would stay clear of this car. You dont know who the previous owner was or who did the work. Was it some shit shop or a shop with a good reputation? Highly doubt the HP claim with just heads/cam package. The 550 would have to be to the crank not the wheels and I just dont see it. Is it possible, sure.....but highly unlikely. Yes it only has 45,000ish miles, but how hard did the previous owner drive it and how well did he maintain it?? Just my .02

The guy has detailed records of all the work that is done, that comes with the car. This guy owned the car for 7 years and in the carfax, it shows based on odometer ratings the car has only been driven about 1,200 a year. It was only driven in the summer.

it's more believable to be around 450 rwhp with those mods. Find out what shop did the work. It's says it has a race tune, any time slips? It's a big time gamble buying a car with performance mods, that's why they don't increase the value of the car. Sounds like a fun car if everything is on the level.
