| It has been way too long since I have been to a NHRA National Event. I am thinking about going to the one here when they are in Joliet the weekend of July 9th through the 12th. Only day I have free is Saturday July 11th. General Admission Tickets are $50 a head of time $55 day of for 13 and up and $11 ahead of time and $14 day of for kids 12 and under. They have reserved seating too but its really not needed until Sunday.
If anyone is interested in going let me know and I can let you know when to buy the tickets and make a plan for us to roll in together. If you have never been to one of these races you REALLY need to see it live instead of on tv.

| It looks like my family will be leaving me at home alone to get a new floor done that weekend...so I'm free to go hang out at the track. Is Sat. going to be just as good as Sun.? I've never seen these cars in person, so I'm kind of excited about it. Let me know whatever, whenever.

| Its Thursday through Sunday. Saturday is qualifying for the big guys and the first few rounds for teh sportsman classes. I actually prefer Friday and Saturday to Sunday. Since teams start getting eliminated on Sunday they are more rushed in the pits and you see less and less cars. Saturday is more laid back the teams are more open to talking to people as they watch in the pits, you see the drivers more. Seeing the pro cars in person is one of the coolest things ever. They are so loud and so powerful and will ruin you for all other cars. I will decide if I am going for sure this weekend and post up. | |

| I'm going to just buy them at the gate. I'm thinking of going on fri. night too. I feel like it would be cool to see them run at night. Is that the case, or is it not that different? | |

| Saturday is only qualifying as well. There is a chance that we will see some twilightish qualifying on Saturday. Secure track is at 9 so they have to be done by then but with sportsman running their first few rounds on Saturday there is a chance the pro qualifying will be pushed back due to "on track issues." Friday and Saturdays are the days to go, Sunday is way more hectic and you see less due to those that get bumped packing up and leaving almost instantly.
Cannot wait for next Saturday!

| I just got home from the track. Those cars are awesome. If anyone hasn't seen them, go this weekend, it's impressive. The last top fuel car set a track record, but I can't remember the time now. I think 3.72. I got called into work tomorrow morning, but hopefully can still make it out around 1:00. And don't get one of the breaded pork sandwiches, fucking disgusting. They have one menu item, and it sucks.

Saw that a record was set last night. I really wish I would have gone last night too, seeing them at night is a totally different experience. Glad you enjoyed it. I am meeting up with Jean and Arnold from MMOI around 11 and should be there all day. I pm'ed you my number if you show up send me a text to see where we are.

| What a freaking fun day! Little bit of rain delayed them but we got to see one round of qualifying for the pros. We decided to leave after that, we could see the clouds coming and it was getting windy and no one had anything for coldish weather. Looks like we made the right call.
Here are my pics, working on video now. My dumbass left my gopros SD card at home and didn't realize it until I got to the track so had to do video on my phone.
