Joliet Autobahn Track Day

October 4th and 5th
Autobahn Country Club in Joliet

Mitch from CMC is offering an open invitation to CMC and CAMM members and their friends to bring their Mopars (as well as other cruising cars) out for the day to Joliet Country Club Autobahn Raceway. This is a beautiful 3.5 mile road race track with parking area "reserved for Mopars" (near the outdoor restaurant) and their friends for that weekend.

$10 gate fee for each adult entering the track.  
At the gate mention "Mopar Club Gathering" and that will get you in.



Saturday will be a Hi Speed Autocross event.  The morning begins with Hi-Performance Driving Experience "20 minute lapping sessions" (3 different groups for 60 minutes total per group);

Morning Hi Performance Driving Experience (HPDE)

Tech is at 7:00 am to 8:15 am
Drivers meeting is from 8:15 am to 8:30 am

There will be 3 groups (Novice, Intermediate, Advance) each getting three 20 min HPDE lapping sessions starting at 8:45 am through noon

Each group is determined by the driver's claimed track experience and type of car.  So you will get 60 mins of track time.  This will also be the "practice" session for those who are entering the afternoon HSAX competition event
Cost - $120 MCSCC memebers
Cost - $130 non MCSCC memebers


lunch-time FREE TRACK "TOURING" for approx 30-40 minutes.  
Controlled speeds 60 mph max for 30 to 40 mins
This is pending how the morning HPDE sessions goes (hopefully without any problems).


Afternoon "Hi-Speed Competition Autocross" timed runs until 5 pm.

There will be typical 6-9 timed "competition" runs per entrant.  Each entrant is placed into a respectful classification (per MCSCC HSAX rule book).  Each run is a flying hot-lap, then a cool down lap.  The overall event (all day) is taking place on the south section of the race course which is 2 miles long

Cost - $50 MCSCC members

You have to enter the HPDE in the morning to run in the HSAX in the afternoon, so for anyone wanting to do more then just the lunch time track time (which is not a sure thing) its $180. The $10 gate fee is waived if you are doing either paid event.

Snell 2005 or higher helmets required for the morning and afternoon sessions.
Lunchtime session does not require a helmet.
Passengers are allowed during lunchtime session only.


Sunday will be sanctioned wheel-to-wheel amateur road racing competition.  Morning will be practice/ qualifying sessions; lunch-time FREE TRACK "TOURING" for approx 30-40 minutes (again will happen if there is time).  Afteroonn will be road racing competition until 5 pm.

Ok the topic has been updated with times and prices for racing. Saturday looks to be the only day we are given the option to race. I am now leaning towards going both days, just paying the $10 each day and watch all the fun and run at lunch time if time allows.

What I need to know:
- is anyone going to race on Saturday
- who wants to go watch and what day

Depending on what the answers are will depend on the plan. I can set up a meeting spot and time both days. If no one is racing on Saturday then we do not have to tech the cars so we can get there after the drivers meeting. Mitch is sending me a flyer so I will have that shortly. Will update the Facebook event as soon as I can.

I would like to go on Saturday to watch and run at lunch if we are able.

watch??? I wanna go on the track. Scot, Nick and I had SO MUCH FUN earlier this year when we did this. It was such a rush! I have to check what we have going on that weekend but I'm tentatively IN!

working Saturday and no track time options for Sunday means i will probably skip this. that sucks.

Jon if you aren't going Sunday then I'm out, you are right no racing other then driving the track at lunch.

Ok so since right now no one is racing we do not have to get there early to tech the cars. The first cars are off at 830 am. Its 1 hour and 5 mins from the BP so here is the plan.

Meeting spot
BP 20915 North Quentin Road, Kildeer, IL 60047
Meeting time 7:00 am.
Departing 7:15 am

Taking 53 to 290 to 355 to 80 ( so if anyone wants to meet up along the way) then back roads to the track.

Hopefully that works for everyone. IF someone is going to race you will need to get there earlier to tech your car and do the drivers meeting. Let me know if you need any information in regards to racing.

I am leaning towards not going now. If it was going to be a bit warmer I wouldn't mind hte rain but I don't want to be out in the rain when its not even going to be 50. Krystn and Marc let me know your thoughts.

If the forecast doesn't change throughout the day for the better then I'm fine with not going. We can make a decision tonight.
