$250 ticket for tinted front windows!?!?!?!?!?!?

Yesterday when I left work, I got to my car which is parked about 3 blocks away and Ihad a ticket on my window. At first I thought it was for parking cuz the neighborhood sucks as far as parking goes and it has permit parking everywhere. So I checked it out and its for tinted front windows and it is for $250! I gotta go now and remove my front tints so I can send in pictures and get the fine removed so I dont have to pay anything. Does anybody have any tips on how to remove the tints easily?

Man that really sucks. Don't your cops have better things to do?

Thanks. Well I just got done removing the tints. It wasnt so bad. I just had to use a crap load of razors cuz they dull really fast.

Yup, they're sticklers about that in IL. Got one for my Neon prior to buying my Charger.

But only the City has that Ridiculous S Fine amount! That's more than some serious offenses!

Not usually, I'm in Il. quite a bit and I also have 20% all the way around, I usually just get eyeballed by every cop for not having a front plate, and the tints. Never been pulled over though.

Yeah no lie! I got caught doing 85 in a 45 and the ticket was for $100. I guess having tint while parked is more dangerous than doing 40 over, lol.

I've got the same... All around. IL state plates.

I've never gotten a ticket for my tints up front.

I've gotten three or four speeding tickets. Never did they inquire about the windows......

yea some cops can be real jerks. i've actually gotten my car impounded a few years ago in cicero,IL that cop was a real :homo: he wouldnt give me a break at all. so a $500.00 ticket and another $120 in impound fees i got my car back. what a long night that was!!!

I work Downtown & was just saying that! If I want to take wifey out, We will take the Train & walk! With the rise in parking, sales & entertainment taxes. It can now be very costly, not to mention the possible chance of TICKETs.

I know someone who was clubbing in the City. She came out to find 4 Tix. Tint, No front plate, Expired plates & no city sticker. Yes, some may be legitimate, but this was while the car was parked at 2 in the morn. They were giving the authority to walk cars looking for infractions. They walked the whole block & hit pay dirt.

Oh yeah, don't think you're Safe in the parking garages, they can ticket there too!

The Governor of Illinois has 60 days from the time he received the bill till he must take action or else it become a full law. And the bill was sent to his desk on 6/26 so by aprox 8/26 it will either be signed into a law or default into a law

I have no tint at all just because I don't want to be hassled. I'd get 35% if this bill passed. I think I'd give it a while first for all of the cops to be educated about it though.

The question is, is Dick Daley in favor of it? He might be if they can get some kind of tax associated with applying tint.

This just another example of Taxation by Traffic Fines. The economy is bad so state County and local government is "supplimenting" their budgets with silly tickets.
