Blah blah…long post, get ready for my ramblings...
I know it’s been a while since the UG on the 18th
but I’ve just been busy and didn’t really get around to writing
anything about this. For me personally getting the UG going this spring
was a lot of time spent on talking to people and trying to get
everything somewhat organized. I think for the most part it was a good
time, could it have been better?? Yes, definitely. Will it be next time
around? Yes, I’m planning on that.
Anyways....
-----------
The GOOD:
-----------
-
BT crew – Heidi and Dan – you guys are the bomb hands down, I’d love to have you guys up here anytime!
-
Chris aka ChargerChick– you are the bomb, thanks for coming out here and hanging out with us
on Sat along with the BT crew! Also major thanks for helping on Sunday!
-
Modern Muscle– Thanks to Justin and the guys for coming out to the UG with their
cars and showing off what they can do. Without blowing smoke up their
ass, these guys did not disappoint and showed up repping themselves
with great cars. Thanks again guys!
-
Hired Gun Paintwerks– Thanks to Berto for coming out to show off his painting skills! He’s
a great dude and I look forward to him working on my car, dude’s got
skill!
-
Vanilla Gorilla – Thanks to Ray for coming
out to show off his powdercoating work as well. A lot of people locally
use his services so it was a no brainer.
-
Rave Waves Car Wash – Thanks to Brandon for coming out!
-
KLUCK Fabrication – Thanks to Charles (pigpen) for coming out so far to be a part of this event. Dude is crazy with his work! Thanks again!
-
Wolf Customz – Thanks to YellowNaner from ClubCow for coming out from Wi to be a part of this as well and show off his stuff.
- Thanks to my lovely lady Melissa for keeping me sane in the months
and weeks before the UG and supporting me! I’d would have given up if
it wasn’t for her at times, trust me on that.
- Thanks to my buddy Ekaz for helping me with making this UG somehow stick before and during the actual event.
- Thanks to Hops23 & Di, Brian (irishrt5.7) & Deb for helping
out tremendously at the UG, your help is greatly appreciated. I thank
you!
- Thanks to Pat Pretty Boy SublimeDaytona268, Daniel BamBam, JoJo and Shawn1112 for helping out as well.
- Snake Alley Customs – I love bikes so this was a no brainer for them to come out!
- Thanks to George of Rocky Vanders for working with me and providing
me with a canvas to make this happen. He’s one great dude and car guy
at heart for sure.
----------
NEUTRAL:
----------
-
Umbra Window Tintingdidn’t come out because of a certain issue I will not disclose at this
point. Nino does great work and is THE guy to do your tints for sure!
-
Performance Werks Racing– Andy wasn’t able to come out to this (and the Camarofest that
Saturday) because his wife fell ill. It happens so what are you going
to do.
-
Redfox Racing – Nathan was supporting the event but not coming out, no issues here
-
SDW, INC – Steves Discount Wheels– an issue came up a few days before the event and the guys couldn’t
make it but had SD268 Showing off some Wheels and promo materials by
his car.
-
Jason’s Auto Spa – Jason sustained an
injury the night before the event and let me know ahead of time and
still offered up raffle prizes. Kudos to him.
---------
The BAD:---------
-
MARINO CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE– Currently I have nothing really good to say about this dealership.
Bunch punks if anything. Although there is hope now that we have
contact with a better positioned person when it comes to showing up for
an event besides a jackass. Nonetheless, huge middle finger goes out to
them for royally screwing things up!
-
Sound Decision – No call, no show, nothing. Noted for future reference.
- And as much as it saddens me to write this, since I went out of my way to accommodate this company…
HXC Performance– HXC had the premium spots for the cars and yet nothing on the cars
promoted them to be HXC, if it wasn’t for me promoting the purple Cuda
most people wouldn’t even know what the hell it was. Lesson learned,
sucks for me, I’ll know better for next time. I'm sure other companies
would utilize the spots better and to their advantage.
- Vendor area location – I think the area on the side would have
been fine if it wasn’t for the damn wind and the fact that it was
chilly. Vendors in the middle of the lot would be better.
- Securing the whole parking lot EARLIER would have helped me too, but what are you gonna do. You learn.
- 97.9 The Loop – unfortunately the deal with the radio station fell
apart, although that would have given us way more exposure, radio ads
and promotions, online promotions, giveaway, radio staff, rock girl on
site, etc. Didn’t happen now but it’s something that’s in my head for
the next one.
- Chrysler did support us be posting on FB and Twitter but since
everything was on such short notice, nothing big really happened - that
should change next time around.
- Certain organizational things went haywire thruout the day. Starting
with some people that cant park ( I had to repark one guys car cause he
couldn’t get it lined up with the ram next to him – I mean really?!!)
to the raffle issues we’ve had.
- Budweiser provided
UG banner with an old school mustang in the background...FAIL!
I’ll add more to these lists if/when I remember more stuff.
I like getting this thing together, gives me something to do (besides
work, house work, yard work, car work, kids and etc) and at the the end
of the day knowing I did something good for fellow car enthusiasts.
That puts a smile on my face and makes it worth it for me.
Thanks for reading...
