| Ok so most of you know my neighbor fucked up my caliPers. I have the calipers sanded down all the paint is off. I was at Menards and found an auto high temp enamel. Its for painting headers and things like that. The color is almost a dead match for the silver on my car. But its a 3 step process after you paint. You have to put them in the oven at 200 degrees for 30 minutes, then let cool, then repeat the process at 400 degrees, then again at 600 degress. Will i fuck up my calipers by baking them? I'm not too woried about the 200 and 400 degrees because I'm sure your brakes get that hot at some point, I'm worried about the 600 degress. Any thoughts?????? | |

| Thats what I used when my neighbor fucked them up. I wasnt to crazy about it the silver was a little to dark. This stuff from Menards is a bright metalic silver. | |

| My worries would be about the rubber seals around the piston of the calipers....All that heat and it can really shrink the rubber causing it to crack....Also I would suggest using a stove that you're not going to use anymore.Once paint is heated it releases chemicals from the paint drying. Those chemicals will bake on to the oven and is basically poisonous... | |

| Thats exactly what worries me. I think what I'm gonna do is, buy high temp clear coat. Paint them with the high temp paint, and the seal them with high temp clear. The high temp clear is good up to 500 degrees, so I think I should be ok. If my brakes ever get up to 500 degrees, then I have a serious problem somewhere. I hope this method works | |

| Hey Shawn....I used plain old engine paint from Checker/Autozone. Been on my calipers for over 2 years and still looks great. You might want to try that! | |

| Worked on them a little last night at my neighbors. Everything should be ok, primed, painted, and cleared 1 caliper last night. Will work on them some more tonight. | |
