Hey Jeff, I just added my Billet catch can today and I'm have a Jet 180 thermostat installed on Friday. You said it was a great mod, and after some research I'm really looking forward to the results.

See you soon.

actually, the thermostat will still help predator or not... thats what ulitmately controls the temperature of the water... those settings in the predator are for fan speed, which is just how fast the water cools off in the radiator...

I have a predator, but now I'm confused on which way to go? My Tech at Palmen Motors in Kenosha can do the install and the predator tune, but then Jesse offered to install it so I could save some cash. Plus Jesse is a hell of a nice guy to offer....

Thoughts?

Joey switched back to his stock one when he sold his car. That is how I got my 180.

I agree do it yourself or have a buddy help you out save some money.....This how to might help you save some money as well. Some guys has had "Engine Warning" light come on and others have not IDk why that is or why that could be. Maybe your car doesn’t like the fan setting. If I were you get yourself a good CMR tune and your tuner will fix it all for you.

Turn on Predator and goto the Performance Tunes line.

Agree to the disclaimer

Press the Custom Tune line (not sure on the Diablo Canned Tunes?)

Select the tune that you prefer (if you have more than 1 tune saved).

Go to the Modify Tune line.

Agree to disclaimer

Then select Modify Parameters.

Now you need to look for the "Cooling Fans AC Off" line.

Now you will see 6 sublines.

High MPH HS Fan On

195.xx

LS

178.xx

MS

185.xx

Low MPH HS Fan

195.xx

LS

178.xx

MS

195.xx

Once done with the above, exit back to the list of parameters you want to modify and go down one line to the,

Cooling Fans AC On line. There will only be 3 sublines to do here:

HS Fan On

195.xx

LS

178.xx

MS

195.xx

Exit out and install tune.

FYI: double check your settings after you save them; after they've been saved, for some reason the predator sometimes adds 2 or 3 to the number value...so when you go back into the settings, it will say 192 now instead of the 190 you set it at. so you need to go 2 or 3 under your intended value to make it right(ie. set it at 187 or 188 to get 190 after you save the setting.)

You should set those fans at 193 or the temps will cross 200 and pull timing. Also 185 on the other end or the fams will run too much.
