even if a 8 second car is next to you, if he F's up his launch he will still be way ahead of you and you will have tome to brake an let him wreck.

That's the truth. The track that my dad's racecar wrecked on was an 1/8th mile. Some of the smaller tracks are only 40 feet wide. If you compare that to say Gainsville back in FL just one lane is 40 feet wide. So you have much more room to save a car if it gets away from you.
