Illinois Tint Law Update

In my opinion this will probably pass. No all you boys can tint 'em up !! Enjoy... Who's got a good referral for someone who does a good (car show quality) tint application??

Umbra does a great job. They are out of Schaumburg.

Doing tinting there? I have no idea how long it takes to do one.

I doubt if he will be doing tinting there.

It took him about 45 minutes to an hour for the Chally.

how many people on here have there front windows tinted?

I have mine at 30% or 35%....What ever is legal here now in IL and I live in Elk Grove where the cops are complete assholes and I've yet to get pulled over or bothered by them for it

No, just me and Hemimag have our full windsheilds tinted. Actually I think Hypnotic did it too.
It is against the law for a full windsheild, you are allowed 6" from the top only.

Im still kicking around idea,i have a strip at top but was thinking aboit doing whole window.or painting ky containers under dash...or my third choice is getting the 3 g custom kit

I have 35% on the Windshield I love it. No issues at all accept waving people to go ahead and they can't see me... lol. Lighting is good at night (with HIDS).

That helps cause i dont wanna loose visibility.i was pissed driving home from rookies i was like this sucks driving on 53 at night ....turns out i only had my angel eyes on..lol

i thought about leaving my limo strip at the top on and having them go over it but i think id just have them take it off....

my buddy has that on his impala... looks good and kinda throws the popo off.

will you see a seam? where the strip and full piece meet

Just a heads up, not to many places will tint your windshield because of the law and liability factor. If you need a place let me know

Z tech is where i go and send my friends.im actually in there parking lot right now dropping off a friends ride.there a little pricey but your paying for the experience....the price to to his maxima was $260 for five windows and back window is one piece.

$260 is expensive! How do you know how much exp they have?? Are you going off what they tell you or do you know the guy personally. I could tell you I have 15 yrs exp and would do it for $150, would you believe me??? My buddy who I personally know and have known for 18yrs and I worked with him for 7 of those yrs tints windows. He has about 15yrs exp and is cheaper than $260 with a lifetime warranty on tint and his work.

Does he machine cut film or do it old school

Is this law applicable in the city of Chicago? I've heard of people still getting tint tickets on parked cars. I'm already collecting no front plate tickets from every municipality in the area, I'd hate to start another collection without finishing the one I started.
