| Ok. here are pics June 17th, took on about 3" of water, didnt take many pics that day as our main concern was getting the clean up started. Me, Tammy and the kids did the clean up, my Dad and I did all the demo and new construction except for carpet. Also in this pic Taylor had some stupid fucking half wall in the middle of her room, we ripped that out as well and opened her room up big time by shawns1112, on Flickr Untitled by shawns1112, on Flickr Also ripped that old piece of shit door that went to a closet in Taylors room and replaced with a 6 panel door to match the rest of doors in basement that I put in a few years ago by shawns1112, on Flickr by shawns1112, on Flickr | |

| Seeing those pics from after the flood reminded me of the smell of wet drywall. Hope neither of us have to smell that again. Nice job on the remodel. | |

| Thanks everyone! Couldn't sleep last night because of the storms, lol. Pretty sure either Tammy or I went downstairs like every hour. One bad flood in 12 years now I'm going to be paranoid every time it rains. On another note, I put a check valve in my floor drain, might prevent water from coming up thru there again and might not. It usually works if you don't have a bathroom in basement and if you do in my case, then it's a 50/50 chance it works. Also being that we flooded made us ineligible for flood insurance for 5 years, complete fucking BS. However I was able to secure some coverage thru FEMA. Cost us like $250 for the year, now we are covered up to $30k for furnace/AC, hot water tank, washer/dryer and foundation. Also will cover clean up and installation of new drywall, but not taping or painting it (don't understand that for the life of me), and won't cover new carpet or shit like furniture or clothes and shit like that. But I figure if it happens again, they will owe me close to $10k just for clean up and new drywall. I can do everything including carpet for around $5k, so it will work out. | |

Welcome to the club. You get used to it. There are devices that you can put on the floor that will alert you to the presence of water. We have a few connected to our home alarm system. Here is one that is battery operated. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Basement-Watchdog-Battery-Operated-Water-Alarm-BWD-HWA/100038838 | |
