PostSubject: Great Lakes Dragway   Great Lakes Dragway I_icon_minitimeNovember 18th 2014, 10:19 am

Me and my brother decided a few weeks ago to take place in the last week of Open Test and Tune and GLD. It was my first time ever racing but it was tons of fun. It was a little colder then I would have liked for the Mikey Thompson Street Comp Tires but I did fairly well.

My best pass was a 14.00 @ 98 mph my highest speed of the day was 101. The tires just wouldn't stick enough, plus it didn't help 2 guys blew water pumps jacking up both lanes.

It was a friendly competition between my brother in his tuned 89 Pontiac Trans AM GTA and Myself I won 2 out of 3, he has been there a few times and times the lights well.

My last pass of the day was with a 2012 Mustang GT with an exhaust and who knows what else. He had the better launch and my tires slipped but I was pulling him in. About 3/4 of the way down I was a car length behind and I don't know if something let loose or what but he was off the gas and I flew past him, giving him my most satisfying win of the day.

yeah baby nanner gold

Very nice! I went a few weeks ago also when the news was there doing a piece on street racing. It was also a little chilly that day and my buddy was having issues hooking with his M&H's.

Sounds good, they the day I went it was real cold and they had the junior drag racers out there and it took forever whenever they had to go.

that news story didn't do GLD any favors. Kind of lumped them in with street racing, when they are just about the opposite. Lame. I know there was a magnum in the pc, maybe it was yours? I don't remember the color.

Everytime I go to Byron the Jr's are out there. I need to plan better.

Yeah that news piece did nothing for them. I thought it would be promoting their track a little more. Yeah that was me and my buddy.
