like a dumb ass i didn't get UV protected suede back when i did my own suede headliner a few years ago. it has started to fade in places (same reason i re did my pillars in carbon fiber fabric last year) so i was going to re do the headliner in the spring with the correct materials. i also didn't use foam backed suede when i did it before.

Shawn gave me a link a while back to a place that has the right foam backed UV protected stuff for a great price. after throwing around some ideas in my head i just ordered some materials.

-2 yards x 60 inches of "Black onyx"
-1 yard x 60 inches of "charcoal"
-5 yards of red piping

it's only about 60 bux worth of materials.

i think i am going to have my mom sew a strip of charcoal down the middle with red piping between the colors. should look something like this mock up i made in photoshop, what do you think?

i was gonna do the center in red since i have red accents all around in the car and engine bay, but i decided that it would be too loud of a color for a big space. i stuck with the black and charcoal theme an worked just a touch of red in the design with the piping so it accents instead of taking over the look.

Love it! I think the red piping will be a nice touch and not too in your face. Can't wait to see it when it's done.
