Has anyone replaced the door hinges on the driver front door? The upper hinge is getting on my nerves.

The dealer wanted about $140 for the hinge and it doesn't even come painted. I have to pay to have it painted and then pay to have it installed. Sad. The door is tough to open and close. Horrible.

what about a junk yard hinge. i am sure there are many lx's out there to get one off. if the bottom hinge is still on i am sure the alignment would stay pretty good while you swapped it out. check you-pull-it in Aurora or something.

also what year is your car? late 07 and up had a gm style hinge with a roller ball and the older ones are all enclosed units. if it is the roller ball style use some white lithium grease and work it in. if it is the older style you have to replace it.

new ones-

for and 06 it's number 9 (left) on the list for 67 dollars.

for and 08ish still number 9 (left) on the list for 61 dollars.

that is an lxforums supported vendor.

I plan on going to I-55 auto and grab one. It's a sealed hinge so I will have to replace it.
