For the 2010 model year, we are pleased to announce that our current Lifetime Powertrain Warranty (non-transferable) will be replaced by a fully transferable (with no fee) 5-year/100,000 mile Powertrain Warranty. Extensive consumer research and analysis indicates that overall, customers find more value in this new warranty. In order to ensure a smooth transition, all 2010 models will have the 5 year/100,000 mile Powertrain coverage (see exceptions below). This should eliminate potential confusion and assist us all in our marketing efforts.

The summary below provides you more details on this change. You will receive instructions shortly on action you need to take for any 2010 units already in stock or in transit, as this affects all 2010 models.

2010 Model Year – USA 5/100 Powertrain Warranty

For the 2010 model year, Chrysler’s “Lifetime Powertrain Limited ” Warranty will be replaced by a 5 year/100,000 mile Powertrain Warranty coverage.

Key Facts:

1. All 2010 model year vehicles sold in the US will have a 5 year/100,000 mile Powertrain Warranty coverage. (Exceptions listed below.)

2. The 5 year/100,000 mile Powertrain Warranty coverage will “go with the vehicle”, so there will be no need to do warranty transfers and there will be no charge to second/subsequent owners to continue the warranty beyond the original owner.

3. There will be no deductible charge for repairs in the 5 year/100,000 mile Powertrain Warranty coverage period.

4. For all vehicles, the remaining warranty coverage’s will remain unchanged.

- Basic Warranty will remain at 3 years/36,000 miles
- Corrosion coverage is 5 years/100,000 miles
- Air Bag coverage is 3 years/36,000 miles
- Emissions coverage is 3 years/36,000 miles
- Adjustments coverage is 3 years/36,000 miles
- Air Conditioning coverage is 3 years/36,000 miles
- Extended Federal Emissions coverage is 8 years/80,000 miles 5. Exceptions to the 2010 model year 5 year/100,000 mile Powertrain Warranty:

- Sprinter
- Ram Diesel and Ram Diesel Chassis Cab
- Sterling trucks, NM Raider (Mitsubishi), RM Routan (VW)
- Company Car vehicles (WCC 062)

The warranty coverage for these vehicles will be unchanged for the 2010 model year.

The following vehicles were exceptions to Lifetime Powertrain coverage, but will be
included in the 5/100 Powertrain coverage:

- SRT vehicles (including Viper)
- Police, limo, taxi, ambulance, postal, rental and government (fleet) vehicles

SRT vehicles excepted. Assholes. Mine runs out next month.

Screw the warranty, you can have your car serviced by the ElCobra warranty. I hear he is pretty good at doing heads and cam packages!

I suspect his prices are slightly higher than free.

Depends what needs to be done, or what parts need to be purchased. But otherwise, you won't find a cheaper wrench anywhere.

You're a mechanic by trade, or hobby? I may be looking at heads, cam, headers next year and I don't really have a trustworthy mechanic in mind yet.

I and other Camm members can assure you he is a great mechanic! He is the only person I would let rip my motor apart twice, and will probably do a third time when I have more cash!
