| Recently I have been told that my stock motor mounts where bad. I tried to see if I can date it and realized that when I was at byron in October last year I heard a clunk. I think that is when they broke.
I swapped them out for solids this weekend. I like them and I was wondering what other people thought.

| i use the 6 speed challenger mounts. much stiffer than the stock fluid filled ones but without the vibrations of the solid ones. i was afraid to go full solid at the time. i'm very happy with the 6 speed mounts.
i am curious to see how much vibration the solid ones have in your car.

| how much work is the install on these? I was thinking about going with the challenger ones as well. I get a whole lot of shake with this new cam though, stiffer mounts might make it worse. Do you guys feel like they make a substantial difference?

| Jon the vibration really isn't that bad but it is noticeable. I did notice that acceleration has a quicker response.
Bill they really are pretty easy to install. Alot easier with a helper. I did them on my own and it was about 6 hours.

Really! When I took mine out they where both ripped in half and empty. I should've switched them along time ago. Everytime I accelerated it sounded like the rearend was binding a little. Bill and Jon if you want to take mine for a drive let me know and it wont be a problem.

i don't know how... your stockers should have gone long ago. lol. mine were toasted so bad my half covers were rubbing stuff on the passenger side of the engine bay. everyone is breaking the stock ones at normal HP levels.

bill well... sit in Bills car at idle and sit in mine and compare. mine feels almost as smooth as stock for vibrations. remember the 6 speed mounts are a factory mount. just beefier for the motor rocking manual cars get. they are not fluid filled like the auto cars.

It's because I don't beat the hell out of it like you guys do, lol. I should probably put a set of solids in, before I start launching it on the transbrake.

| My drivers side on mine was shot too. I had the 6-speed mounts handy and switched them out. I like the feeling and it isn't that much harsher than the stock ones to me. Engine does squat when you give it the pedal. | |
