I went limp last night. Twice.

Both times accelerating away from a stop. Gave it a good amount of gas. Felt it bog down when traction control pulled spark to stop wheel slip, then a trans bang like a hard shift/neutral drop and then limp.

Tires are really almost gone, so wheel slip is easy even on dry pavement.

Concern? Or just get new tires?

Try resetting the trans adaptives.

Thats pulling fuse, right? Which fuse?

Ok. Reset the fuse yesterday morning. Drove to itasca and back apparently without incident. Side street driving last night...apparently no issue. On the way to the train station this morning, side streets...limp mode again. No jerks or bangs or wheel spin, just noticed most of the way there that I had no first gear and no autostick. :-(

Shifter gone bad? Any codes?

Anyone recommend a trans shop? My dealer's Service manager was decidedly dickish lst time...threw me under the bus with my extended warranty company.

I hit limp mode for the very first time yesterday i seen a nice straight piece of road with quite a few sets of treads on it so i figured what the hell might as well add a lil charger tread to the mix, soon as they started to smoke (for about 30-40 seconds) suddenly i heard a hard shift and instantly went into limp mode threw a check engine light. i hooked up the predator to look at the code and mysteriously it wasnt there...shut it off turned it back on and it was back to normal, light off and all. nething to be concerned abt?

No, I think something to be concerned about. It's happened to me driving around town at under 45 mph driving.

I threw my Charger in to limp mode a few times, turned the car off, restarted and was fine. I was really beating on it when going in to limp mode, and was in autostick. I have done it once to the 300 so far in autostick.

Need to post what codes are being thrown.

my check engine light came on but when i checked the codes it didnt show any, i'm not sure about the rest of the ppl but i know mine showed there were no codes thrown....

It happened to me once (when I was still driving it all rear round), I got stuck in snow and had to beat the shit out of it to get out.... Went to the shop (at like midnight LoL) and tried to scan it, no codes, I erased the codes (there wasn't any but I figured fuck it), then disconnected the battery for a while, connected it again, and havent had a problem ever since.

I know it's use-less info, but figured I'd chime in and add my two cents LoL

No stored codes. Did the key trick, got

Talked to Mr. Norms...they will do the work with a 3rd party warranty company. Gut feel is I don't want to drive it 35 miles up there with CEL light on and probably limp mode before I get it there.

It will be ok. Just pull over and start off again if it hits limp mode. These are funny cars. So protective of everything that they sense as being too much or different.

I have only had it happen one time the whole time I have owned the car and it was not fun at all. No codes or anything and just happened the one time.

Oh it could have went there, I left it alone because it was a serious issue.

Well...finally got my car fixed and back. Problem was a shaft speed sensor...it wasn't getting a signal to the computer. It sits in some plate on top of the valve body. They had to drop the trans to get at it to replace the plate. Thank god for extended warranties.
