PostSubject: PWR 440 half filled shortblock up to 1800HP   PWR 440 half filled shortblock up to 1800HP I_icon_minitimeSeptember 14th 2012, 6:33 pm

I called Andy today and had a long discussion with him about why I thought this should be sent to 601 W. Jefferson St. Only time will tell if it gets sent there in a crate. This is the ultimate motor. The processing of the crank alone is just unbelievable. This is a bullet proof setup.

Manley crank:
Incoming Magna Flux Inspection, Check TIR, Visual Inspection
CDM ( Controlled Displacement Micro ) Polish Prior to Nitride
Ion Nitride
CDM Polish After Nitride
Final Insp. & MPI

Manley 300m Connecting Rods:
Forged from 300 M aircraft quality material
Fully machined to produce the lightest and strongest rod possible
Shot peened after machining to Mil specs and 100% individually magnafluxed
7/16" ARP Custom Age 625+ cap screws

Manley Custom Forged 2618 Pistons:
9310 Tool Steel Wrist Pins
Total Seal Steel Rings
Reinforced/Thicker Skirts and Crowns

6.1 Iron Block:
Darton MID Sleeves Installed
Sleeves are Ductile Iron (Not Cast Iron like the Aluminum Blocks)
Half-Filled with Hard Block
Billet Caps
ARP Main Studs
ARP 1/2" Head Studs

6.1 Block: $1000
Darton Sleeves/Installed: $3500
Hard Block: $300
Billet Caps: $500
ARP Main/Head Studs: $550
Crank: $1600
Rods: $2400
Pistons: $1000
Rings/Wrist Pins: $650
Bearings: $200
Machining/Assembly: $1000
Total: $12,700

Thats a max effort engine with every possible upgrade you could consider. I would like to sell this today and its being sold outright meaning I do not need a core sent back. I will ship it within 24 hours and the shipping will be included. The first person to offer $8000 will get this.

I dunno, I would still need to add Heads $2800, Cam $450 and an intake manifold $1000.

The longer I think about it the more I'm thinking I should just build my seasoned short block into a forged long block. I already have the forged crank, lol. I think I could build mine for $6500 ish. Andys would be twice that.
