| Subject: U7135 Diablo question. June 11th 2012, 5:02 pm | |
| I was wondering if anyone here is REAL good with info on this Diablo U7135?? If I remember correctly there used to be a "reduce torque managment" feature but I can't find that anywhere. What I can find is "auto stick upshift". I can either pick "mode one" or "mode two" What exactly is that and what does it do?? I can't find anything in the booklet that came with it. The trans seems "lazy" in it's shifts. With the new cam and now a 3200 stall converter, I seem to be slowing down rather than going faster. Help!! | |

| No I didn't. Tim is sometimes hard to reach. I've been dealing with Tony at FLP in Naperville. Also a very well known and knowledgeable guy to deal with. They're the ones that installed the converter. Tony always has the time to talk to people about stuff. I did find a "firmer shift" option in the Diablo but I'm not sure if that just boosts the line pressure or if maybe that's the torque managment setting. Tony is checking with his contact at diablo. Just here looking for someone who has vast knowledge of that Diablo unit to try and get some answers.

| There should be a stock setting, which is what I use. It auto upshifts for mine. The other 2 settings in there are for the different years and only one will work for you. You will find that one setting holds your gear and the other will auto upshift. Just pick one.
I think the other setting you are looking for is shift firmness, which has been removed. It didn't do anything, after a certain year. If you want firmer shifts there are plenty of noids and boxes and modules you can buy. But you know that.

| Here is a link to the instructions. I do know that it's imperitive to follow the instructions to the letter.

If you want firmer shifts, yes, it will do that. I have an SHR HTCr tranny with blue tops on it. It slams the gears pretty hard.

| I really feel the shifting is the problem. It shifts like old people f**k. Did you ever hear a guy racing with a stick shift that doesn't know how to shift?? That's how my trans is shifting. It's gotta be causing me to lose time and MPH. | |

| I don't really think I want to got with the blue tops. Might be a little harder shifts than I really want. Someone did mention about using my Diablo to firm up the shifts to see if it improves my times and mph. If so, then I would feel confident that this TCM should be the answer. Still doing my homework right now. All I know for sure is that I need to figure this out. I can't afford to keep throwing money into the car without solving the problem. | |

| check out the Tranzformer. I had some issues with it initially, and the customer service is kind of lax, but since the newest firmware it's pretty awesome. Scalable shift firmness, and you can set the shift rpms for each gear. bill | |

I don't know what is available in the r/t parameters, but Diablo removed shift firmness from the SRT because it didn't do anything. Maybe it's still there for the r/t. If it is, use it. It can only help. Is your tranny slipping, like from 2nd to 3rd? Is it just shifting slow? Is it all shifts?

| I haven't upgraded mine in a long time. Since now I have a custom tune after the cam install, I see no need since I can't alter the tune. The shift firmness feature is still in there because I saw it. When you choose it, it asks "are you sure"?? That made me a little nervous. I posted on Diablo's site and I'm waiting for their answer. | |

Don't let that worry you. It asks in case you didn't mean to select something. Do it, it might solve your issue. It won't blow it up. - Wicked 09 wrote:

I would reset trans adaptives and increase shift firmness. You might also have the dealer check your trans fluid level, if that doesn't correct it.

| Good answer. I just re-did the trans adaptives on ths advice of another guy. I upped the shift firmness earlier. Will I have to re-do the firmness option now that I cleared the TCM??
