| I quit trying to cleverly concieve my own ideas for a build. If I get an idea or a suggestion is made about my motor, I just ask the experts at Mr. Norm's. It has saved me alot of grief and aggrevation, since I undid all of the things that they pointed out to me that were wrong for drag racing.
If I were you I would just call and tell them that you need to make an appt. to get a cam installed and tuned. Then ask which one do you recomend and what all do I need? Saves alot of grief. Tim had done thousands and thousands of dyno tunes and knows what combo works the best.

| Has anyone installed a VVT cam from Arington Hemi? Where you happy with the results? I had one put in my 09 Challenger R/T at Mr Norms. The dyno says I have 353.7 RWHP and 364 Torque. Seems like a decent gain to me. A new 3200 stall converter is on the way. I'm hoping for mid 12s when finished. Another decent place to work with is Finish Line Performance in Naperville. | |

| It may just be me but those seem a bit low for the effort and cost. Did you start out with real low numbers? Only reason is cause I'm at those numbers 347 rwhp and 370 tq with just cat back and a CAI with Tim's tune Something doesn't seem right | |

| According to Tim, a stock R/T is putting out about 320rwhp. It would be my luck that for the money spent, I didn't gain as much as I hoped. Arington claims gains of up to 40rwhp. So...I really don't know what to say about the whole thing. Burned again? | |

| Could be your car and Vic's were on different dyno's. Dyno's can vary from 25-40 hp. Some are very stingy and some are very generous when it comes to #'s. | |

| I dynod at 360rwhp and 398tq with a Cai and flowmasters only. I was on the old dyno. i know they all are different that's why I wanna know what the actual gain is | |

| I may have it retuned at a later date when I can afford it and after the converter install. But as it sits, I should be able to pull mid 12s I would think. My 60 Fts suck right now but my top end speed is around 106/107mph. | |

| Right now all I can say is whatever it is it is. Can't afford to do a cam swap out or anything. I wanted to keep the variable valve timing which is why I went with this cam. I'm sure changing the torque converter will help. Right now I'll just work on heating up the tires and practicing on my launches. Thanks to everyone for thier imput. | |

| First of all, I have no idea what dyno Tim has at Mr Norms. I know there can be a big difference in dyno results from one to another. That's why I've never really had a lot of faith in dyno results. I've always believed the results are best proven at the strip. With top end speeds in the 106+mph, I would think mid 12s should be attainable. My problem lies in my 60ft times. Consistant 1.9 60s are just not going to cut it. I know I need to get those Nitto DRs much hotter before launch. Going to Byron on the 12th. I'll experiment a little more with the launch. | |

| Tim has a couple of Dynojet Dyno's. Numbers are just that, numbers. You have the right idea. Take it to the strip and compare the performance to your old slips.
I've been on the Dyno so many times and I don't even know how much rwp I make. I don't even get a sheet. Tim just tells me how much more it made. Like "yeah, you made another 30 hp and 40 tq"., lol.
Would you rather brag to your neighbor that you have more hp than him, or kick his ass at the strip?

| Kickin ass is always better!! I have no complaints about Tim at Norms except distance. There's a place much closer to me called Finish Line Performance. They're going to do the converter install. 30 minutes verses 90 minutes one way just works better for me. Any feed back on them?? I've heard good things. | |

| No Naperville. They've been around for quite a while. Even before Norms. | |

| Yes, the original Mr Norms was in Chicago. I lived about a mile away from them and the original Nickey Chevrolet as a kid. Yes...I'm old. LOL The "new" Mr Norms as far as I know has only been around for a couple years. Nothing against them except they're a long drive for getting things done. About 90 minutes one way from where I live. To Shawn 1112, I think you're thinking of Speed Inc. They're not much for Mopar stuff. | |

Norm got out of it during the gas crunch in the 70's when there were no performance cars. He has gotten in and out as muscle cars or trucks reappeared. Like now.

My numbers were a little higher. But like Tom said, don't get hung up on the numbers. Go by how it feels. My car feels great!!! Very responsive! I did not have a baseline dyno because my stock cam was shot and we had to replace alot of internal parts. I do have the dyno from last June at Dyno days...but that was a different dyno than the one at the new facility I believe. I can't compare apples and oranges.

| I saw your car when I was there. Like I said, dynos run different and the proof is at the strip. I'll get my launches figured out I'm sure. I'll be out at Byron on May 12th. anyone want to stop out? On the subject of cams...Arington has a new can out which they claim on their site takes a basiclly stock 5.7 up to 334 RWHP. So after reading that, I have to think that the 353 that I got wasn't to bad. My car being a "new" animal, I just need to get that power on the ground. | |
