After you go through tech. Park the car in the pits with the hood up and just wander over to watch racers go through all of their routines. That way when you decide to race you will know what to do when you get up there. On street tires just go around the water box and give it some gas to spin the tires over a couple times to get the crap off and clean them up.
When stageing the car, if your in there first, light the top bulb only and wait for the other lane to light his. Then inch forward and just enough to light the fully staged 2nd bulb. Go on the 3rd amber and hold on until you see the win light on your side at the finish line. Then dynamite the brakes and watch out for that guy behind you if your in the right lane. Make sure you don't cross in front of him and get torpedoed. It isn't usually a problem but be sure you see him slowing down too.
When you launch you will have to experiment with the throttle so you don't just go up in smoke. I would foot brake it to 1200-1300 range and just let off the brake until the back tires clear the starting line while steadily rolling down the hammer in a deliberate fashion. Anything near 2 sec. or less in your 60' time and you doing it right. I wish I had known this my first time. Just ask Vic. I was sideways on the track and the car was about to swap ends.
