so yeah, as the title would suggest... I can't believe it... brand new car, only 6200 miles on it, and already it needs a clay bar. You know dodge, these are reasons why american cars are always getting a bad reputation. Looks like i've got a little project in store for this weekend. Just not cool i gotta go through it so soon....

why does it need a clay bar? if its rail dust that is one thing, if it is environmental conditions on the paint it really wouldn't be the manufacturers fault...

clay bar only takes off surface contamination build up. it doesn't fix issues with the paint job itself.

This.

If you live in an industrial area then its gonna need it more often than a car that lives out in the sticks somewhere.

i believe its just left over sticky from the wrap they put on the cars... the finish is nice and glossy but doesnt have the smooth as glass feel when running your finger over it... i clay barred a small section on the rear driver door and it started getting nice and smooth at that point

I can handle the clay myself... I prefer doing it myself anyway, cuz i take a little personal pride when i do it, and the cost is significantly less doing it yourself. Im thinking this saturday evening though Ive got a date with some quick detailer, a piece of clay and some wax. I just can't believe that such a new car would need this already. Oh well, haha thats what i get for buying american Wink Wink haha. I still love my Mopar though...
