| The other day I went to the city to get some halfway decent tires (2 Toyo's for 100). I asked the guy if he had any rims for sale and he showed me alot. The 20" that he has are $250 a piece. Then he showed me a set of 4 (not sure of the make), he is asking $250 for them but they are pitted.
Does anybody know how the pitting can be removed or repaired?

| Once pitting is there your fucked. You can clean it with never dull, but it will always come back. My wife has stock chrome rims on her Maxima, they are pitted and every month or so I have to polish the shit out of them and it always comes back. You can have them repaired and painted. If you want them re-chromed its expensive, probably about $400 a rim. | |

no. not at all. the pitting will come back under the clear and its hard to get paint to stick to chrome also. when chrome is bad its bad. a re plate is the only option. they sound like more trouble than they are worth.

Nowadays painting chrome is not that hard.My set of 24's were colormatched over the chrome and not once did they peel...Not a lot of companies are chroming any more but you can always substitute for black chrome which is safer for the environment and its a lot cheaper.Or you can always powder coat

| A little Flitz polisher (eBay has it) and some elbow grease will do wonders. I has a spot on my Durango. Three weeks later, it still looks great. | |

Whats wrong with your rims. They looked good when you painted them.

Whats wrong with your rims. They looked good when you painted them. Nothing just wanted to change it up a bit. I actually painted them again but this time black. I am have that bug that everybody gets when it gets warmer and just want to get out there and work on it.

| Thanks, i'm wishing I did my rotors when I had the wheels off. I guess that just gives me another reason to get back out there. | |
