E85 conversion

I've been doing some research about possibly adding one of these "kits" to accomodate E85 fuel. My question is, have any of you tried this? or know of anyone that has? Also, any idea where I could go to get a decent price on the unit itself and a tune for it?

I know there are a lot of different opinions out there...I'm just looking at this point. I'm hoping someone will have some good insight on this.

I'm not sure what you mean by kits. I've been doing some experimenting with alcohol. I could run e-85 in mine right now. Al you have to do is change out the stock injectors and run the srt4's. You would need a dynotune for it and maybe a set of plugs that are one range colder, but maybe not. Unless you are racing your car though it wouldn't be a good idea. E-85 is cheaper but it takes more volume and the gas mileage is terrible. Expect 9-10 mpg. on it. On the plus side you could tune it for more timing and HP.

A good tune on e-85 nets more gas mileage then ANY flexfluel car the tables are so fucking lax and lazy

actually e-85 gets way worse gas mileage.

its some nasty stuff but it makes power. i don't want it near my fuel system myself. its very corrosive.

I was talking about our hemi gas cars. 9-10 mpg.

That's why I put the meth kit in. Just hit wot and the solenoid kicks in and sprays alcohol and water into my intake. It does the same thing I just don't have to burn E-85. Keeps IAT's and cylinder temps cool. Add some race gas and it will be really cool.

Yeah so somewhat cheaper yet your filling up twice as much, and yeah i've also heard that it can destroy stuff. Part of why there are the kits to replace what will not handle the e85.
