| I did an LED swap to Ballzie's car today and in return he gave me his brand new DMH Low profile electric cutouts!!!!! He changed his mind about putting them on his car and hooked me up big time! So I will be going to an exhaust shop tomorrow morning to see if they can mount them onto the mid pipes that Dave gave to me and then put them on my car. If that happens, I should have them wired up and ready to go by tomorrow afternoon! I have been wanting to do this mod since I first got the Charger but didnt want to pay the hefty price tag. I also wanted to thank Ballzie for his generosity. | |

No shit? Thats pretty cool. Tell him he makes some really nice cutouts! Hey guys I got a question about driving with the cutouts open....is it ok to drive with them open for a long period of time with all the hot exhaust hitting the floor pan? They have a little shroud on them to direct the exhaust away from the floor pan but just in case, should I put some of that sticky foil heat shield on the floor pan near the cutout?

| I drove with mine for quite a while with them open with no probs, besides the cops! I also did have little downpipes on mine though to direct them away from the car...it does get pretty toasty around the area of the car though when you have them open. Make sure you clean them throughly through the winter otherwise you'll end up like me and having to scrap them after one year of use b/c mine rusted shut! Fucking chicago winters! | |

Go buy you a $500 beater for the winter, so you dont have to drive your car. Even if it pisses a quart of oil a day its better than having to drive your Charger!

| I live at home home no room in the driveway and don't want to pay for storage or another car, when I can mod up the charger...I haven't seen any other negative effects on my car driving it in the winter except for the cutouts. I wash it regularly and If I would have known about the cutouts rusting I would have taken them off prior to winter coming... | |

I see bro, with the way your car has been coming along the last yr I would have to rent a garage, and buy a beater! Your car has gone from a plain white Charger to a Kick Ass white Charger in the last yr.

I will take them off during the winter since they come with a blocking plate and all i would have to do is remove 4 bolts to take the cutouts off and then bolt up the plate. Then ill just tie up the wiring somewhere. I dont want the salt to corrode the hell out of them.

I just got back from the shop and they charged me $150. I had them remove my old mid pipes, cut the new ones up and mount the cutouts on them, then install those onto the car. It took just over an hour. Here is a pic of them installed with the blocking plates on instead of the actual cutouts. This is how they will look in the winter.....

| Ok i just finished installing and wiring them up. I got good news and bad news..... The good news is they work great and are loud as hell.... The bad news is I drove around the block 1 time and went to park into my garage and bent the hell out of the passenger side one already. The garage im renting has a broken concrete slab and the center sticks up a little bit. I never had a problem with it before but I guess since the cutouts are about 1" lower than the exhaust, it was just the right height to whack it. it bent the motor back at about a 45 degree angle so I went and pushed it back. The cutout still opens about half way but i think I am going to keep it closed and disconnect it just in case it gets stuck open. I am going to have to get another low profile cutout and maybe even try to get the exhaust shop to try and tuck them in a little higher to the floor pan so I dont have this problem anymore...this sucks. | |

Yeah I think I shit myself a little when I heard the noise. I thought I backed into something with my bumper at first. Im gonna take it off tomorrow and see if I can bend it back and rig something up to hold it in place. I might go to the exhaust shop again tomorrow and have them raise them up a little so they are flush.
