need a press

Subject: need a press August 7th 2010, 9:47 pm

Installing caltracs next weekend and I need a press to get the old leaf spring bush out. Any one have a press I can use?

I added an extra leaf to my 250 SD a few years ago and squeaked by with a series of giant c-clamps. It wasn't pretty. It worked though. A press would be the ticket if you can get one.

Thought about that, didnt think you could get enough out of em. Guess so eh!

I have a torch also but that makes one big mess....

It was probably a dumb way to do it, but it was all I had available. I put about 6 or 7 of them on the leaf and just cranked 'em down to the holes in the shackle. I had to settle on the first hole, because I couldn't compress it any farther. Be carefull if you do it that way, lol.
