| Here's my 2 cents....
I got new tires a month ago and stayed with 20" rims so I didn't lose any side wall and have a harder ride. I got Pirelli Pzero from Tirerack. 245/45/20 ($209) in the front and 275/45/20 ($208) in the rear. All the other sizes were $300-400 each! They ride nice and quiet and if it's warm enough out, I can't bust them loose even if I try!!!

| oops, I meant 275/40/20 in the rear.... that makes them the same rolling diameter so they're popular for AWD cars. Since they sell so many of that size combo, they sell them for less! | |

| I'd go with Invo's in 285/30/20 rear. You may not enjoy the rough ride on the NT05 tires. Plus they won't last long. Invo's are the best of all worlds. That's what I run and I love em. | |

| what do you plan to do with the car? the 420 and NT05 are two completly different tires. the 420 is a 3 season touring performance tire and the invo is a purpose build weekend road racer tire for the street. the 420 has a soft sidewall and the NT05 is still as hell for cornering grip that makes your car ride on rails. the NT05 only comes with 7/32 of tread to reduce squirm in corners where the 420 is a full depth 10/32 or so tire with a 420 tread wear ratting vs the NT05's 200 tread wear.
i run 315/35/20 NT05's on 10 inch wide vipers in back and 275/40/20 NT05's on a 9 inch wide rim in front.
for what i do its the only tire option. no other tire in its price range is a 200 tread wear road race tire.
if you need a little more tread life, yea you might want to look to the invo's or something else. i get a little over an autocross season on a set. thats with about 6000 street driving miles thrown in before they are retired to track use only for a couple more events and after that they are tost.
295/40 is the widest you can go on the stock rim
that price on the pirelli tires is not bad. hell of a deal for that tire. the 275/45/20 is a little too tall in my opinion. some people run that but i wont. i don't want to take the hit on gear ratio and have the back end of the car any higher.

bigger tires lowers your gear ratio. its the reason people use short ass mustang tires at the track to effectivley raise their gear ratio. 275/40/17 mustang slicks make you have about an effective gear ratio of 3.23 on an srt8 3.06 rear end. taller tires do the oppisite. they will make your car a sluch off the line but you will cover more ground on the top end. the taller tires roll over more in corners too. for most people its not a big deal to go to that 275/45/20 but you going from a 245/45/20 tire stock to a 275/45/20 tire changed you from the stock r/t gear ratio of a 2.65 gear rato to a effective 2.56 (aka the same thing as keeping the same size tire and changing your gear ratio to 2.56 is what your car feels like.)

| Sorry, I messed up the rear, it's actually 275/40/20 NOT 275/45/20. so the ratio will be the same as the front 245/45/20 right?
Sidewall Calculations: 245x.45=110.25mm 255x.45=114.75mm 275x.40=110mm

what size tire are you running in back? i thought you had 245/45/20 or something... thats not that much taller if so. 275/45/20 is quite a bit taller though.

those are even more of a track tire than what i run... but they suck at about half tread and the only sizes in a 20inch they make are the ones made for GTR's that are 400 dollars a tire... you should check size charts to see if they make a tire in your size...
