| Modern Muscle in Oswego is in thier second week of my Stroker build. Here are some of the parts that have just rolled in from Modern Muscle Virginia. New 6.1 manifold to 5.7 head spacers with a built in thermal barrier to prevent heat soak. Just became available last week, I am the third person to get these. Modern Muscle 87mm Ported Throttle body port matched to the intake manifold Modern Muscle 6.1 intake manifold powder coated, belly pan thermal powder coated, and ported to throttle body and injector bosses opened The stroker is being set up with 10:5 compression so I wont be sacraficing any power now but will still keep the possibility of Forced induction in the future. | A few more new goodies for the car. Should get it back within the next two weeks but not on time for LX and beyond. BT fuel rails, BT DAYTONA coil covers, BT catch can Zbracket, and Black braided fuel lines and fittings. Thanks Shawn for the great deal on the BT fuel rails. | |

| It's going to be a killer ride man, I bet you're really excited. The bad news is, once you have it for a week or so all you'll do is think "it's time for a blower". It's a sickness, as we all know. Looking forward to the finished pics. | |

| Speaking with them as well (and a few others) about a 392 SB build. Somthin to hold up to a 200 shot. They were pretty detailed about the quote.
Curious, what are the cam specs and what stall TQ are you going with?

| Out of curiosity, what are they charging for the parts and labor? I'm considering having a 426 stroker done to my Challenger but I may also forgo the stroker and just forge the motor, lower the compression and run the boost up to 12+lbs.

| 426 is much more expensive. it involves sleeving the block. | |

| Sorry guys I've been out of town and just got back. As it figures they called me Friday to let me know that the car will be done on Sat while i'm out of town. LOL. I should be picking it up on Tuesday with a base tune on it. They want me to break it in (baby it) for about 300miles than bring it back for the WOT tune and Dyno time. It will be broken in the first day and I hope to have it in for tuning by the end of the week. I'll know more on Tuesday (thier closed Mondays) and I'll get an update and pics posted than. The short block starts out at like 5k. Once you start adding on and upgrades your knocking on 10k installed. labor for pulling and install is about $2200, Dyno and tuning is $450. That dosent include things like the fuel rails and lines @ like $500 or the 6.1 manifold/spacers/porting/ and throttle body another $1200. Keep in mind too that I already have stage 3 heads that they didnt have to mess with. I try not to think of the price. My wife thinks its getting a basic rebuild for 5k. oops lol | |

Total installed (parts/labor) from modern muscle is $9600 The tune is included in that price. Gladius had asked what labor costs were and that is why I broke it down. They give a very detailed Quote/estimate listing all parts/costs, labor, fluids, tune, engine assembly, motor install, tune ect. So I know exactly what I am paying for what. I like the way they give a detailed brake down because I was considering just buying a shortblock and doing all the install work myself, as I have experience and have done all the work on my car myself. Not included in that price is the 6.1 intake/gaskets/TB/porting/fuel rails/lines, which I sourced from elsewhere myself. (all of which there is no additional charge for install) Hope this explains the pricing a little better.

I was just speaking my mind, maybe because I bitch and complain anytime I buy something for my car trying to get a better deal. For instance I would have told MM do the car for 9k or I'm going somewhere else. Thats just me though, and I'm sure you already got a kick ass deal.

| Thats exactly what I did. I've been looking at various options and companies since last year, after I did my getrag LSD, as the next step. Got some of the odds and ends at no charge, double roller manley timing set at cost of a stock set $90, new oil 6.1 oil pump nc, plus Im getting the torq converter which was added on after the fact installed along with a trans flush/filter installed for free. The convertor they matched the best price I could find on the net @ $449. Litttle things to keep my ccosts as low as possible. This left me enough cash to do upgrade such as the 6.1 intake ect. | |
