Subject: new race videos from today. May 23rd 2010, 9:22 pm
like i told many of you last night, i went racing today. (so i don't get any static for not telling people. lol.)
well i classed myself correct this time but that doesn't mean much when there are still all wheel drive turbo cars in your class. the second you do any mods to these cars you get bumped into classes a 4200lb rear wheel drive car doesn't really fit competitively in. the 2 cars in my class today were a modded Mitsubishi evo 9 and a modded Mitsubishi evo 10. i actually did real well and i missed second place by .103 seconds. i ran a best of 53.5 seconds. since i was outclassed for the most part i just wanted to have fun and enjoy the car while being competitive with my buddys. they are all in random classes but we are pretty competitive with each other.
out of my friends there lap times and cars were-
-55.03 Audi TT (Porsche big brake kit, big turbo, and full suspension) -54 Honda S2000 (light mod with good tires.) -56 Honda S2000 (stock with crap tires, it was his 3rd day owning the car) -57 Acura CL-typeS (only mod bridgestone re070 tires) -56 350Z (turbo with heavy mod, needs driver mod)
there was a new Nissan Skyline GTR there running 49 second lap times
here is the best run of the day (53.5 seconds). looks slow but that's cause its the smoothest lap today. sometimes you got to take it easy to be faster.
here is a slow run, but i thought it was worth sharing cause at about 24 seconds in i went about 45 degrees sideways and saved it right away. i was on a long sweeper turn in a slalom going around 45 mph at the time.

Looks fun! So were there others cars on the track too? In the second video it looked like other cars were following the course behind you. Do they stagger your launch time so there are more than one car on the track at a time?

normally one starts when the one before it hits about half way. there is a starter guy who tells you when to go. i was getting kinda pissed that they were sending up to 3 out at the same time for some reason on sunday.
when we work the corners we have to flag a driver to stop if we don't set up a knocked down cone in time for him to come through our corner, but it was hard to do since you didn't have as much time as normal. the cars are not close enough together to hit each other even with 3 on track, but its just hard on the people who have to run out to reset the course when people hit cones.
