Engine block heater Empty
PostSubject: Engine block heater   Engine block heater I_icon_minitimeJanuary 6th 2010, 3:00 pm

I was thinking of putting in an engine block heater on my car for next winter. Since I have 2 cars now, I would most likely keep my Charger in the garage for most of the winter so I thought about the heater. Is it worth it and how hard is it to install? I know they only cost about $70 so its pretty cheap but by looking at it, I have no clue as to how to install.

the engine block heater is only to warm the car up before you drive it. there is no reason to get it if your parking the car. you can not run it all the time.

example if you leave for work at 6am, you plug it in at 4am or so.

there are 3 kinds. the one that replaces a freeze plug on the block, one that goes on the radiator hose and circulates warm coolant, and the kind that sticks or magnets to the oil pan.

i think the factory option one is a freeze plug replacement one...
