Pink thingy...

Well for my birthday one of the things i got was the pink thingy... i decided to tackle it this morning and i gotta say one of the easiest mods i have done in a while... took all about 45 min... now i don't have to worry any more...about being locked out that is picking up a raccoon due to how low my spoiler is that is a different story i am still wide eyed to make sure i don't have to go over one...

I gave my wife a pink thingy last nigt. It was not her birthday though. It didn't take 45 minutes to install. I kept installing and uninstalling until I just decided to just pull it out altogether.

The shift loch mech. It has a habit of breaking around 50,000 miles or so. When it breaks your fucked, you wont be able to shift your car out of park. The problem is that the factory mech is a pink plastic piece of shit. You can replace it with a more reliable one from Billet tech.

I just became a casualty of the pink thingy. I suggest to anyone who hasn't by now....order one and replace it. It's just a matter of time before it breaks.

This is very good news. You don't want to have to replace yours with one from billet tech unless you're over 50,000 miles.

Then I'd better start thinking about it. That'll be a weird "How to install" photo essay.

I'll be replacing it tomorrow. Heidi sent me one overnight. All jokes aside, you guys might want to look into getting the replacement just in case. It's gonna break fellas. Just a matter of when.

I'm told the 2008's and up don't need it.

Well that is good news. Looks like Dodge fixed the problem....must be using something other than plastic.

I got me 1 for Christmas during the special.

OMG what a PITA it was putting this in. You have to take the whole shift unit apart. Found out that while I got the car out of park, I broke off another piece of the shifter (had no clue just how strong I was!! LOL) and had to go to the dealer to get a whole new unit. Luckily, I'm still under warranty and I got it for.....get this now......NOTHING!!! Yep! Traded out the unit and I now have a new shifter....but, we installed the BT part and removed the pink thingy.

lol... it wasnt that bad ms muscles...lol

did ya have any left over parts? like a black thing an 1 1/4 long?
