did a little work to the truck today on my day off. wanted to get it somewhat in shape before i drove it to world of wheels with you guys.
-took the winter shoes off and put the 20's back on. -put the stock headlights with tinted corners back on. -got a new set of carbon tail lights and tinted those too. the rear is mega blacked out now. -custom fabbed some lower grill inserts out of the pieces that were in my factory cross hair grill.

Looks great Jon. Did you tint the rears yourself?
yea. vht nightshades and a billion coats of acrylic lacquer clear coat. they are nice and glossy but i have yet to buff and wax them. i just did them last week in my buddies heated garage. its too cold outside to paint yet.
i tried to do some custom work on my trucks ebay halo lights today too (the ones on the truck in my sig pic), but it didn't work out since its so cold out. I'm gonna sand them down and re do them when i get back to my friends garage on a Sunday. gonna tint the lights except for the halo and projector part. it looked awesome when i first tried it today but the finish started to crackle since its so cold out.

I read on one of the forums that they recommend you lightly sand the taillight prior to applying the VHT. Did you do that? I am going to to mine as soon as it warms up. What brand laquer did you use?

i just scuffed em with steel wool and prep wiped them. they were brand new tails right out of the box.
the clear its one i bought at advanced auto. dupi-color brand in a blue can with a clear top. what i found is odd is that it does not have a shaker ball in the can. the can says it dries to the touch and can be handled in one hour.
i don't know if its the optimum paint or correct kind but it worked for me.
