Went to GLD with Bill (funkpolice) yesterday and ran a new PB. Ended up running a 13.3 @ 107 mph. Only got 1 run due to the rain. My best time before was 13.5 bone stock. Think I need to invest in some new tires and converter if I want to dip into the 12's consistently.

Oh okay, it's funny you say that because I only noticed your 60' was missing. Didn't even realize the sections missing for myself.

Went back to the track (GLD) and still cannot break into the 12's. Hit 13.2 @ 107.

was that yesterday? If so the DA had to be really high. Like Shawn said, some cooler weather and you'll be there. 1 tenth in the 60' is probably good for 2 in the 1/4.

what was your 60' time? 13.1 is way better than I ever ran without track tires.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but his 60's were rite around 2ish. I told him last night he needs to heat his tires up a little. He is basically going around water box coming to a stop and instead of doing a small burnout he is just hitting the gas to spin them a little bit, then staging and launching. I'm thinking a little heat gets them tires sticky and improves his 60' by at least a tenth.

Consistent 2.1's. I finally hit a 2.0 but the car was done and I ended running a 13.4 @103.
I totally agree Shaun! I've never done a burnout so was a hesitant to start doing it yesterday.

Go find a parking lot at night to practice in. Pretty easy to do bro, and you dont need a massive burnout to get your tires sticky.
Also I should have asked last night, how are you running the car at the track, auto stick or just leaving it in drive, and TC off or on?

I have the car in drive. I turn the traction control off. Holding the button down until it says disabled. Usually rev to 1200-1500 and ATTEMPT to roll into it.

I don't know if street tires are going to get sticky, but maybe. I do know you want to clean the off with at least a small burnout. Don't be intimidated at the track. No better place to do a burnout than there. It isn't an easy thing at all to launch these cars on street tires.

I should have worded it differently, and said to heat them up a bit, instead of saying sticky, lol.
Figured he would get the idea by saying sticky. But in my Charger I ran my best times heating the tires up vs not heating them up. Agreed its not easy to launch with street tires, but with practice you can get a decent launch.

Shawn you were right!!!

Oh it's definitely on, saw the 12.9 and instantly wanted mid to low 12's. I have a 3.73 waiting to be installed, just on the hunt for the rear section of the driveshaft.
