My brother and I are going up to Great Lakes on Sun., so if anyone feels like going, you should! I"ll be there until around 3pm. Hopefully I can get my new suspension parts in, but they probably wont' get here. I got the shocks today, but the other parts... who knows.

that's like 1/8th of the price of a torque converter.

Yep, its usually about a $100 for me to go racing.
With that said, i know a few Jeep guys are planning on Sunday. I might go with the Bears not playing till Monday

If I had my car I'd go to Gainsville but the air is bad here.

Tom, I have a set of springs somewhere in the USPS system, possibly in my mailbox right now. I ordered all the other mounts, isolators, dust sheilds, etc., from east coast moparts, so that I can have the whole strut setup to switch back and forth. If the springs get here by sat, I'll put the lakewoods on for Sun.

traction was absent today. not even a little bit. I can only guess that the new converter is blowing the spent tires. I need to do some research and pick a new tire. I think that what I'm running now is enough to hold the power I'm putting down, the ones I have are just done. I'm trapping just after the 3-4, so maybe a 28" tire would hold that shift off and also help traction wise. I'm using a MT 275/40 R17 now. Anyone have any insight? Bill from paramount told me that for what I'm running, with decent prep and the right tire I should be able to mash the pedal off idle and hook without a problem. I tried to stall it at the line my last pass and failed. In the heat of the moment too much pedal resulted in a burnout as the tree went down and a smoke show soon after. 12.9 with a 2.xx 60'. Best run was the first, 12.5, 1.8x 60'No still way better than swinging a hammer all day.

Dr's are infamously inconsistent, Bill. Get some Hoosier 28x10x17 slicks. I know, I know. You drive to the track on your 17's with dr's. If you do that deal, then sometimes you hook and sometimes it sucks. The tracks are all gone away in this cold weather.

I change the wheels at the track, so slicks are definitely an option. I'm just afraid the 28" diameter is too much for the power I'm making. I'd rather be consistent and a bit slower, than hit or miss, so I think I'll take your advise. thanks,
bill

I bet your times improve. You will improve the 60' times with slicks.
