Subject: Go Karting Outing August 14th 2013, 8:36 am
A few of us have a groupon we bought like a year ago and we wanna use them so would like to see if anyone would like to join us to race some karts. Sunday August 18th.
Melrose Park Indoor Grand Prix 2225 W. North Ave Melrose Park, IL 60160 http://www.mpgrandprix.com/ - check for pricing 13 and up can race on Sunday's but check the site for the requirements
They open at 1 pm so I was thinking we get there around 2 pm then race for a bit then afterwards go get early dinner.
Hooters 2503 W North Ave Melrose Park, IL 60160
Thinking of heading out around 4 for dinner, so that gives us 2 hours of racing.
If anyone wants to just do dinner and not meet at the karting place let me know and I can text you a time we are leaving so you are not sitting around.
Post up if you want to go.

FYI people looking at this thread that have not carted before. it is not normal go carts. these are high power very fast, very fun karts. your body will be tired after 3 races. last time i bought 5 races and did not do them all. i was exhausted. lol. you can be a noob too, Jackie went right into the wall on the first turn of the day last time we went. hahaha. (sorry Jackie that was like the highlight of my year it was so funny.)

I've been to this particular place a few times, and like Jon said, these aren't your kids go karts. The karts have the same power to weight ratio of a porsche 911, and reach speeds of up to 30-40mph... this is always a lot of fun!!

Good time! Thanks for coming out Jon, Tom and Tom's guests Maggie and Kris.
So I killed three karts. First kart I think I snapped something on the back because my right rear wheel came off. I drove on three wheels a bit before the people working there saw what happened.
Got a new kart made it 5 feet died.
Got my awesome number 17 kart made it to my 4th race. Right side was feeling warm but the engine was right there so whateves. Tom and I are on the warm up lap and boom my kart overheats and dies.
